IDE adapters...

Hey there,

Anyone out there who can help a Hermit out?

I need to get data off (and reuse) a pair of IDE drives... Should i go the internal route or the external route??

My parts options are as follows:

Internal PCI IDE controllers (will find once I hit the shops)

IDE - SATA adapter board : http://www.lazada.com.ph/uplift-ide-to-sata-20-converter-adapter-627867.html

External IDE/SATA - USB solution : http://www.lazada.com.ph/usb-20-sata-ide-converter-542918.html and http://www.lazada.com.ph/ide-sata-cable-adapter-25-to-35-363241.html

External IDE dock/enclosure (will find once I hit the shops)

Budget is being channeled... Preferably below 1300PhP (~25USD)...

Thanks in advance...

I'd go with the external solution. It's not like you use IDE every day.

I would also go external. Looks the most reliable of the 2

This will be almost permanently attached to one of my machines... but the machine that they will go in will not be build until next year...

I can get one of any by next week... (hopefully that one shop has a dock in stock so I wonn't have a mess of wires near my setup)
