Can a GTX 770 (DC2OC) maintain 60FPS on Planet Side 2 in 1440P maxed?

My 660Ti isn't giving me very good 1440P performance so I am going to upgrade. I posted in the Reddit /r/buildapc IRC but I got nothing but troll answers. I cant find any benchmarks

I have a GTX 470 that is basically a 660 TI  because of the OC I got goin, and honestly I get weird FPS in the game. Depending on the situation or where I am, my FPS can be GREAT or SHIT. And it doesn't even seem to be consistently good or bad depending on the area. Also, a lot of the time my GPU % isn't even over 80%, sometimes it just sits around 60%... Bad code? I am not sure, either way I am sure a 770 would do a much better job as it will just have more horsepower to throw around

Also at 1440p, you might be running out of RAM. Do you have a 2 gig card? My 470 can run out of RAM at 1080p, but it is also only has ~1.3 GB

His monitor is the Samsung S23A700D, which is a 1080p monitor, so unfortunately he can't give us benchmarks by himself.

Haven't you seen the monitor "overclocking" guide? XD It's legit, you can run your monitor at a higher resolution than it was designed for.

Also, OP, a 770 should do very well, there's a video of some guy running it with one. I just can't seem to find it...

downsample means the internal resolution that the game engine renders at is raised,and then it's scaled down to a resolution you're monitor can handle.

 

it's like if you open a 1080p video in VLC player,then you shrink VLC player into a small window,lets say to 1280x720,the video will almost seem sharper,despite the quality being exactly the same.

I didn't even know what was possible for gaming. Yea that makes sense, but how do you do that? Because that is borderline awesome. I would almost do that for games that I easily max anyways.

780 would probably do you good, especially on a 1080p monitor.

In the description he describes why he sometimes lags. But he maintains 56fps average.

770 sli or 780. Take your pick. 770 sli would destroy planet side 2, even at 1440p. 780 would do well.
