Decisions... Decisions..

Zaya

I currently have a 144hz Asus VG278HE monitor. I recently found out that most of the games I currently play do not support 144hz in windowed fullscreen (windowed borderless) mode. I can only get 144hz with fullscreen mode. However, I find it very inconvenient to game in full screen mode because I am using dual monitors making it very irritating to alt tab and actually utilize the second monitor while gaming. My second monitor is a standard 60hz monitor, a Samsung Syncmaster P2350.

My issue now is that I hardly ever game in full screen mode, if ever. This means that I am essentially wasting a 144hz monitor. I was wondering if it is just the games that I play that don't support 144hz in windowed, or windowed fullscreen mode, or can no games be played at 144hz with windowed modes?

Furthermore, if there is no fix to my game titles (mainly Blizzard games: WoW, Diablo, SC2, but I also play other games) being able to be played in windowed mode with 144hz, I am looking for a good monitor for movies. This does not necessarily have to be a ultrawide or anything special, a simple 1080p would suffice. I assume this would be an IPS monitor? But I'm not sure. My budget is no more than $400.

Suggestions appreciated! :).

Also, just to throw it in, my GPU is an MSI 970.

Dont quote me on that, but I think when you open a game in windowed and then press alt+enter its fullscreen but you still can alt-tab properly.

The easy option is, displayfusion, it is a multi monitor software and it has a option for no alt tabbing while in fullscreen

@Zaya

I'll check out displayfusion! Thanks for the tip.

Edit: I think maybe either you misunderstood, or I'm bad with software. I'd like to game in fullscreen with 144hz and still maintain the super quick alt tabbing like in windowed fullscreen mode (if possible), not not being able to alt-tab at all.
