  1. Anyone have any price estimates for the new Acer XB270HU when it comes out?
  2. Ambient lighting maybe? Not sure, but I'm trying to do something like your lighting!
  3. Any particular reason why?
  4. I am having troubles picking where to place my desk lightning as I prefer not to use the ceiling lighting all day. So I've been trying to figure out where the perfect place for a small desk lamp would be without it shining straight into the face. I think the reason I can't find a good place for the desk light is probably because I might not know the true purpose of a desk lamp. Anyone have any output to where a lamp should be placed, or what type of lighting is best to use?

    New Monitor

I assume its the types of games I play? I don't have the option to adjust the refresh rate in game while its in windowed mode. Edit: Quick screenshot of the option being grayed out ingame options while in windowed borderless mode: http://i.imgur.com/xaVvWyS.png

    New Monitor

I currently have two monitors, an Asus VG278HE, and a Samsung Syncmaster P2350. I've decided that I don't want the 144hz monitor anymore because the games I play do not run 144hz in windowed, or windowed borderless mode (not sure if there are any games that do). Obviously this means I have to game in full screen to utilize the 144hz, meaning that I can't effectively multitask with my other monitor. Because of this I HATE gaming in full screen mode, so I've decided that I would get a different monitor. As of right now, I do occasional gaming, and mostly watch movies, youtube, and tv shows. The Asus was around $350, so I'd prefer a monitor around that price range, or cheaper. Something that I have been looking at is http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00HYZXY4I/?tag=pcpapi-20 However, I'm terrible at picking monitors. I would like a monitor that would serve those purposes better, an IPS? Not sure. I do run an MSI GTX 970, but I figured that 1440p IPS monitors are over my price range. Everyone's opinions are appreciated, unless you're trolls of course .
  7. I'll check out displayfusion! Thanks for the tip. Edit: I think maybe either you misunderstood, or I'm bad with software. I'd like to game in fullscreen with 144hz and still maintain the super quick alt tabbing like in windowed fullscreen mode (if possible), not not being able to alt-tab at all.
  8. I currently have a 144hz Asus VG278HE monitor. I recently found out that most of the games I currently play do not support 144hz in windowed fullscreen (windowed borderless) mode. I can only get 144hz with fullscreen mode. However, I find it very inconvenient to game in full screen mode because I am using dual monitors making it very irritating to alt tab and actually utilize the second monitor while gaming. My second monitor is a standard 60hz monitor, a Samsung Syncmaster P2350. My issue now is that I hardly ever game in full screen mode, if ever. This means that I am essentially wasting a 144hz monitor. I was wondering if it is just the games that I play that don't support 144hz in windowed, or windowed fullscreen mode, or can no games be played at 144hz with windowed modes? Furthermore, if there is no fix to my game titles (mainly Blizzard games: WoW, Diablo, SC2, but I also play other games) being able to be played in windowed mode with 144hz, I am looking for a good monitor for movies. This does not necessarily have to be a ultrawide or anything special, a simple 1080p would suffice. I assume this would be an IPS monitor? But I'm not sure. My budget is no more than $400. Suggestions appreciated! . Also, just to throw it in, my GPU is an MSI 970.
  9. Is there anything that can be done about that on my part? Or would my best bet be to return it? Also, that means it is a problem with the manufacturer, correct?
  10. Hi everyone, I just recieved this monitor today, and plugged it in super excitedly... to be disappointed. I'm not sure if its my computer that's causing this, or if its the monitor. I called acer and they told me that monitors aren't likely to have problems, however I doubt that it is my computer. The problem I'm having is when I drag anything: windows, cursors, or move around in games, I see a slight shadow or trace. I'm not actually able to take a screenshot of this problem, which is unfortunate.
