RATE THE PC SPECS ABOVE YOU :)

thetechdude

Rate the computer in my signature, the new parts are installed so that 6GB of RAM, i5 650, and that Dell motherboard are gone. I plan to upgrade my HD7770 to a 970 eventually as I'm trying to get money around..

Who do I rate? I don't see any builds to above me, just a conversation..

The GTX 970 TDP is lower than the GTX 760. I know that doesn't mean that it consumes less power, but it consumes 20-30 more watts than the 760 (and I used to have a GTX 760)

It seems that you're fine with a good 500w PSU. I can overvolt the card without problems, temps are the only thing that holds me back (the 970 throttles at 70°C undervolting and underclocking). I just hope that i'm not stressing the PSU that much, I've heard good stuff about the Cooler Master VSM series. I went with more GPU performance, but I could went with an i5 4570k and stick with a 760 or maybe a 280x. Anyways I'm very happy with the 970 performance, it's like having a 780, with an extra GB of VRAM consuming less power and having a little more performance when OCed. I just hope that my i5 4570 last some years, I don't plan to upgrade anything in 3-4 years.

480's are still fine. And even then, I probably wouldn't do 1080p.

And it wouldn't render that slow either. That Sempron was about as fast as my grandma's A6 rendering (just a touch slower) and it was pretty fast.

I have a friend with a 480 still... It runs on medium at 1080p.

Guess I'll rate your rig as you are the only one I can. I'd give it a 6/10. It is a great budget rig for sure at the time though. :)

Mine is in my signature, rate it please! Thanks.

I plan on selling stuff to get me a nice GTX 970 sometime next year hopefully.
