I would say at the moment, the HD 7970 would be the better choice. AMD is just killing Nvidia in price to performance right now, plus all the bundle games that you get with AMD cards are all AAA games and optimized for AMD cards.

As an owner of a FTW+ 670, I'd say go with the 7970.

I would go with the 7970.  In bench marks it shows significant superiority to the 670.

7970 is better but the 7970 is meant to go against the 680, the models match up better that way. Its not always about price but what Nvidia or AMD wants the GPU to go up against in sales. This didn't make any sense did it, Oh well.

7970 is much better because it's cheaper than a GTX 680 and out perfoms it. Plus the free games.
