Opinions on AOC Q2963PM 29" monitor or 21:9 for gaming?

I'm looking to purchase this monitor for my newly built gaming system.

 AOC Q2963PM 29"

- Widescreen IPS LED Monitor

- 2560 x 1080, 5ms, 50,000,000:1 (dynamic)
- DVI-D, HDMI, Display Port, Speakers

Just wondering if anybody has any experience on a 21:9 for gaming. I wanted to set up a 3 monitors but i

do not have the space for it. this seems like the next best thing. Dell Asus and LG has monitors out or coming

out with the same specs or close to it.

There is one more monitor that belongs to this category - Philips 298P4QJEB (http://hexus.net/tech/reviews/displays/53885-philips-298p4qjeb-superwidescreen-monitor/)

Cant really say which one is the best, since i havent seen any of them myself, but there's a really good review on the LG one (http://www.anandtech.com/show/6741/lg-29ea93-monitor-review-rev-125), but firmware 1.25 is a must. Would buy it straight away if i could get it here in slovakia.

hope that helps.

The Dell and LG uses the same panel (well it's LG that makes it). The Philips is interesting... they pulled out as it was not working for them, but are now trying again.

The problem I have with the monitor, is that it's 1920x1080. and not 1920x1200. If it was the later, it would have made the monitor very cool and interesting for multi-monitor setup but in one screen, and you can really do work. At 1080, it's feels to squished and isn't great.

But aside from that, and my views.

Despite the potential weirdness of view that you might get, or black border on the left and right side of the screen in some games, you will see more of the game, therefore, could give you a bit of competitive edge in some games, mostly FPS.
