My overclock isn't overclocking

When going into the UEFI and changing the clock speeds on my ram to their advertised speeds, saving the settings, and booting the P.C, it isn't running at the overclock speeds. I'm getting stock speeds according to CPU-Z at 1064Mhz (2133Mhz) When I'm trying to clock my memory at 3200Mhz. I've made sure to save my settings when I exit the UEFI so what am I doing wrong?

I've tried both manually and XMP profile, neither work. The P.C posts but at stock speeds every time. I'm running latest bios.

What exact RAM do you have?

Ryzen 2xxx series isn't known for having the best memory controllers, so 3200 may be out of its range.  2933 may be max.

I'd be fine with 2700Mhz at this point, What I don't understand is if it isn't capable of running it at 3200 shouldn't the P.C not even post after setting it at those speeds?

ram in slots 2 and 4?

That's correct. I originally had all 4 slots filled and was told to take 2 sticks out, run the 2 8 gig sticks in 2 and 4 slot.

usually if a PC can't handle an overclock, it resorts back to defaults.

What RAM tho, did you buy 3200 RAM?  Or trying to get another set to 3200?

I've read that flashing the bios to an older version could brick the P.C I don't know if that's true as I've never gone back to an older bios. Is it okay for me to flash to an older bios?

i wouldn't advise going to an older bios.

ryzen 2000 series memory controller isn't great. i would try to get it stable at 2933. set dram voltage to 1.35 and SOC voltage to 1.1

I'm using G.skill Trident Z ram. These are the two sticks I pulled out but they're rated the same as the 2 8 gig sticks I currently have in the P.C. 3200Mhz is what the ram is actually rated for.

I wish there was a way to video stream me changing my bios and showing you this. Because I've even set it lower than that to try to get it to clock to anything higher then 2133mhz.

So I changed out the sticks to the 2 that say are for ryzen 2 processors. I'm still having the same problem though. Does anyone here own this board and has successfully overclocked it?

Glad I didn't go back then. I'm really stumped here. Are there any lines I could call and pay money to to help me figure this out lol. I wanna learn how overclocking works in regards to ram.

i have a 2600x and a asrock b450 pro 4.

i had similar issues to get ram working.

what worked for me:

- sticks in slots 2 and 4

- enable xmp profile

- manually reduce the frequency to 2933

- make sure DRAM voltage stays at 1.35

- increase SOC voltage to 1.1

this set of settings seems to work for me.

So when attempting to increase the SOC voltage to 1.1 it causes me to lose my computer screen, it stays black. Not sure why that is.

Just to confirm the setting I'm changing is CPU Vcore right underneath advanced memory settings correct? I'll put an attachment in here. Also the website I found that says CPU Vcore is this option is right here.
