asus prime b365-plus or asrock b365 pro4?

Replacing my current motherboard which im pretty sure is malfunctioning, im going for a budget board which is preferably white and ive come across the 2 mentioned in the title.
The price difference is 5 dollars and they seem to be of the same model, both being a 365 board whatever that means. Itll be a gaming pc which ill eventually upgrade to some beefy components like 3070 or 3080 and an i9 cpu.
Im not very good with the details of a components so idk what the difference between these are, any help is appreciated!

B365 is the chipset. You should be looking a Z370 boards if you want to use an i9 CPU, although I can't recommend buying a Z370 board since it is a discontinued chipset. These B365 boards are not suitable for an i9.

 

Your best move is probably to replace your mobo for now with one of these cheap ones, and then later do a full system upgrade when you have the money.

 

What are the rest of your system specs?

i7 7700k and a gtx 1080. if the 3070 is in stock when it releases imma get one of them and shortly after upgrade to some kind of i9

b360 does not support kaby lake.

To get the most out of that chip, you should be looking at Z170 or Z270 motherboards.

 

There is no motherboard that exists that supports both the i7 7700K and any i9 processor.

 

7700K is enough to get good performance out of a 3070.

Huh, that is completely new info to me, just to be 100% sure, if i get a say, Asus z390 Express for my current i7 7700k, i will have to replace the motherboard as well when i eventually upgrade to a i9?

That motherboard will not work with your 7700K.
