One bootdrive for two pcs?

diggawas

I have two systems where i regularly switch between and work with(amd pc and intel laptop) and just purchased a portable ssd to use it between them. Is it possible to create a bootable drive and use it on two different pcs? Like installing ubuntu on it and switch between the two systems? I have concernes regarding driver issues and other incompatibilities.

What would you recommend me to do? Is there a way to clone one pc to another or something like that as i really dont think one drive two pcs will work at all.

Thanks in advance.

With Linux no problem. With Windows it's a little more sketchy.

No, just make an install to the disk, much better.

Yeah try ubuntu,
But during the installation, disconnect any drive on the PC where you are installing ubuntu to your external drive.
Then you can install the bootloader on the external drive, which should then boot on any computer

Im doing it myself. It is quite nice, i only carry my external ssd in my pocket.
