Hi everyone!

 

I'm new here, I follow Linus and his team on YouTube for a long time, but I never tried their forum.

 

First of all, I hope that all of you are well in these dark times...

 

1. Budget & Location

I'm from Portugal, our currency is € (euro).

I am planning to build a Mini ITX tower.

My budget was 450 € but I have already passed it, but it can go up to 500 € if necessary.

It is a well-known store in Portugal.

 

2. Aim

I am looking for a PC that is mainly used for work, Microsoft Office, web browsing. For now, at least.

It will be without the graphics card because I usually play on ps4 (I know, shame on me ahah). In the future, I will probably add a gaming graphics card.

 

3. Monitors

At the moment, I only have one budget 1080p monitor, I can add another one in the future, but it will probably be another 1080p.

 

4. Peripherals

I already have all the peripherals and Windows OS.

I'd go Ryzen at this budget - you will get more performance for the money.

at his budget and use case, the intel cpu he picked is better. the only comparable ryzen cpu is the 3400g which is slower and more expensive.

This build won't work, Ryzen chips don't have integrated graphics. OP will have no display out put at all.

It's true, I can't go with AMD because it doesn't have integrated graphics.

 

I have one more question.

I have this RAM:

Corsair Vengeance LPX RAM 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4-3200MHz CL16

I know that the motherboard does not support 3200MHz (only up to 2933 mhz) and the CPU only says DDR4-2666... But if I use it, is there a problem?

I can get this RAM for the same price (63.90 €) as the one I chose for the PC build, and these are better.

Any RAM above 2666 will just clock itself down to 2666 automatically... Though if you find 2666 CL16 for cheaper then by all means get that. RAM speed doesn't make an enormous difference with Intel CPUs anyway.

So, in this case i may choose the better ones, the price is the same...

Uh, gotta be the Vengeance set. Even at 2666, it'll run at CL16, which is cheaper. Also, it has heatspreaders and isn't going ot be ugly like the naked NT ram.

I will use the "Corsair Vengeance LPX RAM 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4-3200MHz CL16" as you suggested.

 

I was afraid that 3200mhz was too strong and the other components wouldn't follow, but if it drops to 2666, it's perfect.
