Inspiron 22 3265 Upgrade

Hello, all. I'm trying to upgrade an Inspiron 22 3265 with a Crucial Mx500 1TB SSD and it absolutely refuses to boot the darn thing. It is a work machine so I need to either clone or image the original HDD onto the SSD. I've tried AHCI, ATA, UEFI and Legacy, Secure Boot on and off, the works.
