Looking For Chair

gloop

Hey all,

I'm finally upgrading from my crappy Ikea chair and am looking for a new chair to replace it.

Requirements:

 - Ergonomic

 - Has headrest

 - Preferably Black in colour

 - Between £200-250

I had been looking at some SecretLab chairs, but they are slightly out of my budget and I'm not sure of their quality, ergonomics, etc.

Thanks in Advance!

Have you considered a BeautyRest? They are office-style (so, non-gamer design), but they come in solid black and dark grey, and look really great and are exceptionally sturdy.  I just replaced my last BeautyRest (which served me for over 15 years!) with a new one for less than ~$300.  Something like in this family.

Racer style or standard office looking mesh chair?

Edit: if racer style, I love mine from ewin gaming. Look for the one with 4d arm rests

Ergonomic chair is way higher than 250$, you can check jaytwocents for that matter. I use anda seat dark Knight. It's 220-270€ and i am really happy for my choice. I don't know if it's a global brand

Second hand Humanscale Freedom. Much comfier and better made than gaming chairs. Thirteen hundred quid a pop new but frequently available in eBay under £300.

That depends on the brand you go with.

Told you, anda seat :D it's a brand, and I use it for almost a year. For ergonomic chair, check jaytwocents video, he analyse it

other than Herman Miller for a quarter of the price.

Or, as mentioned before, you can go with a refurbished one. Most of the companies reupholster so it's not even like you'll be sitting on someone else's gonad sweat.

The seller I bought my Humanscale from had Aerons and Mirra 2s at around £250. Not sure what the rules are on linking but happy to send a PM with their website, they're also UK based. Mine came in 3 days and is absolutely mint except for some very minor scratches on the legs.

Ideally you'd also check out a few OTHER alternatives as well

Yeah this is a great suggestion, though understandably difficult given current circumstances. I know some people who hate stuff like Aerons, and from my perspective I much prefer the Humanscale Freedom especially from the perspective of the headrest design. If you want an off-the-shelf headrest option then I would also look at:

  • Autonomous ErgoChair
  • inSync 24 Hour
  • Eurotech Ergohuman

AVOID "gaming chairs"

Couldn't agree more, they're absolute trash for the most part and ridiculously overpriced for the generally piss-poor quality of materials and construction.
