Unraid unable to write to appdata

So this has been an issue that I realised awhile back but never really bothered me till today when I'm trying to setup my nextcloud docker to be accessible from the web securely. I'm using letsencrypt and I can't for my life copy in the edited proxy config file into the config folder for letsencrypt.

I have tried using is as a private share logging in with my user which has read/write access to it, and now I just tried setting it as a public share to try copy this one very tiny 1KB file into it. Doesn't work. What can I do to fix this? I believe one of the previous errors said I need permission from NASty/Nobody or something. NASty is the name of my server.

Think this is your SMB permissions. 

Perhaps try to SFTP it? Open an FTP client and connect to NASty on port 22 with your credentials or root, and try copy in that way.

what do you mean by SMB permission? my user by right should have full read write access. But I ended up solving the issue by creating a root share through adding these few lines in the SMB Extras in SMB settings.

 

 

could write to the appdata folder through this share with the credentials already saved in windows.
