Ryzen 2700X. When I run gamemode the system shuts down on more CPU demanding activities.

So I have a Ryzen system. Till recently because I didn't have a lot of money I was running just the two fans that came with the motherboard and I didn't activate gamemode on the bios. Also I usually didn't use the case's cover because I realised the case would got pretty hot when playing games, even simple games as CSGO. The truth is that I don't know much about more modern Cpu's like this one. Now I aquired a three fan package with a controller and two fan speed modes and I choose to use the cover and activate that Gamemode from the bios to give the cpu more power. 

 

The problem is that now when I run cinebench or render in Premiere Pro, the PC shuts. Is it a problem using the bios gamemode with the stock cpu cooler, is my case not propertly ventilated even with 5 fans? Are these fans such trash? I didn't put the cooler in the correct way on the motherboard? 

 

On idle the CPU temperatured are somewhere between 41~55

What are the full load temps? Are you exceeding 95c? 

 

How about the system specs? What specific PSU do you have?

Game mode is probably some kind of all core turbo/auto overclocking I think? In that case there's no guarantee that it'll be stable. Likely either you just didn't get lucky in the silicon lottery or your motherboard can't keep up with the power it's drawing.

 

What motherboard are you running? An OC 2700X can be pretty thirsty so if your VRMs aren't up to the task that could be part of the issue.

I use an MSI Tomahawk B450 Max MB. From what I seen on bios, gamemode gets the cpu from 3.7 to 4.2 ghz, but I'm not sure

No, I don't think so. I never see temps that high.

I believe game mode was originally made for the first Gen threadripper which would suffer poor performance with games because there was too many jobs optimized for that many cores. Game mode disabled half the cores and some games ran smoother. I don't believe you want it on your 2700x however make sure PBO  is on

 

EDIT seems I'm out of the loop and game mode can give you some frames now. I might be wrong
