Will This Bottle Neck?

Hoser

Hey guys and gals, im not super knowledgeable with PC specs and what will bottle neck stuff so I thought id come here and ask. I Built my computer back in 2018 and my specs are as follows,

Intel Core i5 7600K

Geforce GTX 1060 6gb

16GB of DDR4 2400 Ram

Asus Z270G Motherboard

im currently looking to upgrade my GPU but I feel like my CPU could bottleneck that. I have my eye on the RTX 2060 super or 2070 super and just wanna know if my CPU would bottleneck that and if so would overclocking help that?

Yes, it will. No, overclocking won't help the fact that it's still a 4c/4t CPU. Look into a Ryzen 5 1600 AF and B450 board. Those are easily had for 150$ or so. Grab that an a 5600 XT or 5700 with the remaining money and you're golden. (You can get a 2060S or 2070S but those are more expensive for the same performance as a 5700 (XT))

Depends on the resolution and frame rate you're trying to play games at (I'm assuming you're just going to play games), as well as the specific games.

And yes, overclocking will help to some extent.
