Can my laptop be connected with a 144 Hz monitor?

Erin2020

I have an IdeaPad from Lenovo which is a 60 Hz display with 16 GBs of RAM and i7 9 Gen processor with a GTX 1650 GPU. I want to buy a 144 Hz monitor but I don't know if my HDMI 2.0 port supports 144 Hz at 1080p. I know that HDMI 2.0 supports 144 Hz but I don't know if this laptop supports a 144 Hz display.

Can anyone say if it supports 144 Hz?

I don't really know but i think you can with some special monitor... idk. It's very specific. Also depends if your laptop does support it.

It should support 1080p 144Hz with ease.

I edit my posts more often than not

HDMI 2.0 supports 144hz 1080p. Your GPU is powerful enough to support 144Hz (not 144 fps) (fps and hz are different).

HDMI 2.0 supports 1440p 144Hz. 2.0 supports 1080p 240Hz.

If the gpu supports the bandwidth for the hz. Mine doesn’t but I don’t need the hz with a laptop.
