What is the minimum and maximum battery charge percentage to improve battery life of phones laptops etc.

How long do you plan to keep those devices?

If over two years, dont go under 50/40%, ideally don't go under 75%, but good luck with that.

 

In reality, by the time the battery has gone dead/bad, you are probably looking for a replacement.

I have no idea tbh. I do know that when not gaming or watching videos, turning the brightness as low as you can tolerate it saves tons of battery life. Even while gaming or watching video, turn the brightness as low as you can tolerate it.

Gotta miss those days when the batteries were removable and a replacement would only cost $50 (third-party) or $100 (official)

For my iPhones, a battery replacement costs 89 CAD for my XS Max, and 65 each for my 7 and 5S.. pretty fair.

Basic rules I use with any Lithium based device:

 

- Don't leave them charging forever

- Don't let them get to zero

- Use adaptive brightness where appropriate

- Keep them out of extreme temps

- Restart occasionally

- Shutdown completely for a few hours if possible 

 

I charge my devices to 100% and have been for more than a decade. Never saw any degradation of battery power or life and I keep my devices (cell phones, laptops, tablets, etc) anywhere from 1-4 years. I'm aware of how anecdotal that is so take it with however much salt you feel is necessary.

 

Lithium has come a long way from its humble beginnings, and today we don't really need to worry so much about stuff like overcharging. Just use a solid charger (preferably OEM) and a good quality cable and you shouldn't have to worry about charging every night. Assuming no manufacturer defect, a battery bought today should easily last you two years with minimal effort on your part. Just my two cents OP.
