SATA ports might share bandwidth with an M.2, and when M.2 is connected some SATA ports can get disabled... try connecting your 1 TB drive to another port if there is any.

Hi,

i recently upgraded my pc, and forgot install my nvme drive. after shutting down the pc and installing the nvme drive my 1TB hard drive is nowhere to be found.

it does not appear in disk managment or in file explorer

What motherboard? What slot did you install the M.2 drive into?

What port is the HDD plugged into?

It's highly possible you have a board that disables 1 or 2 SATA ports when an M.2 is plugged into a specific spot. Try moving the drive to SATA port 3 or 4 and see.
