An RTX 2070 is overkill for a 1080p panel. An RTX 2060 will serve you well and will be cheaper.

I'd just crank up the settings to max in the game using the 2060...see what FPS you get...if frames never drop below 54...you are golden.  If not then dial the settings back a little till you never dip below 54...

You'll better end up upgrading your CPU to something like R7 2700.

you realise the resolution isnt why i want a better card but visual fidelity, i have a 4k tv to play on and a 1440p 120hz ultra wide monitor. but i care more about high settings than high resolution its just 1080 is the lowest resolution i will ever use again.

I found this video of a dude playing "Kingdom Come" at "ultra settings" with a rtx 2060, but running a 3700x chip...he's never dropping below 54fps...take a watch...maybe you just need a new CPU.

Have you researched whether the 2070 can give you high fidelity at 1080p and ~60fps?  Have you seen any videos of others playing that game on a 2070 on a 1080p monitor with the settings cranked up?

its a more powerfull card for a reason... resolution is the sole reason for a higher end gpu but more performace for graphics i.e higher settings. the fact ill be at 1080p or 1440p isnt important. cant the 1070 nvlink too since i figured it may handle 3 ultra wides in surround in vertical. the vertical curve is quite cool in elite dangerous on 3 29inches.

I suspect your card might not be at fault...rather your CPU.  Also, you playing from a HDD or SSD drive?  Lots of little things can drag down your FPS.

it seems so, the physics and such just cane my cpu it seems, in which case would you think this is a good buy since its literally peanuts and i can always return the ab350m board and buy a 570x board https://www.amazon.co.uk/AMD-Ryzen-Threadripper-1920X-Processor/dp/B074CBJHCT/ref=sr_1_1?crid=3JCGI3EQOE8E7&keywords=ryzen+threadripper+1920&qid=1579725031&sprefix=ryzen+threadripper+1%2Caps%2C132&sr=8-1

i do alot of milkshape and blender rendering anyhow due to my sims cc. and skyrim weapon mods.

is the ab350m board compatible with a AMD 3700x chip?  i'd not buy an older model chip if I could help it...much better off in long run to buy latest CPU.  The old AMD chips don't have the IPC you are looking for.  The 3700x has all the IPC you want...and it's a beast...will play any game you care to play for the next 5 years...see the link below.

its a little out of my price range. my limit is around 250 per component usually. if i could find a used one for close too that online i'll jump on it and yes the asrock ab350m is compatible with all the gen 3 ryzen. i plan on replaceing asap though i need a matx board with  5v 3pin argb headers at least 2. but the ab350m was a 20 pounds upgrade since my old board was defective and they bumped me up 20 pounds due to having no stock of the 320m board. 3600x is perfectly priced. ill see if i can find a 2nd hand one save some pennies. and perhaps sell 16 gb of my ram to get 3200mhz

im using 32gb of 2666

EDIT:

The 3600x is more affordable...and it should do the trick...but fewer cores/threads...anyone on a budget...I'd recommend it to them.  In games it should work 95-99% as well as the 3700x....I think it's in your budget too...look at this link.

one of them i did the other two i sold through facebook was a decent bit of cash vs cex someone wanted to sli the evga ones cex ended up with the msi armour and a evga 670 along with the s4 which i ended up with a refund but semantics right?  but i didnt realise id be so cpu bottle necked even after overclocking to 4.2ghz, so im trying to get ahold of a 2600 tonight for around 95-100 pounds. i wish i had saved the money from the face sale n bought a 3700x when i had the chance on wednesday. but i got my self a new phone.
