New Pc - 3700x build

I plan on buying a new system next week. the picture below shows what i picked and just want you guys to look it over see if i missed anything that i might need to actually build the system and any other advice you guys can offer on better parts.

 

I plan on buying it from this webshop https://www.megekko.nl Its in Dutch but i am sure you guys can navigate it easily enough if you have to.

 

Some points about the system. I already own a GPU(RTX2060) Which i guess is bit underpowered for this but i can always upgrade that easily while upgrading the core system is a bit more of a hassle and i like to have it a bit future proof. I also plan on re-using my HDD and bought a 500GB SSD earlier this year that will go into the system. As for the 32GB of ram, well it doesn't really hurt and after struggling on 8GB DDR3 for so long i just dont ever want to think about my RAM usage again.

 

Budget is 850euro

I would opt for the non-x IMO which would save some buck and compliment the 2060

Yeh i was originally planning on going with the Silverstone RL06 which was also highly recommended by gNexus but as that is out of stock for a while at that supplier i decided to go with this one.

about that build

what are you planning on doing with it?

b/c just for gaming a 3600 and 16gb of ram would serve you very well.

of course if you have the budget and make use of the hardware there is nothing wrong with your choices

I'd swap out that 3700X for a 3600X if it's stricly gaming. I doubt you need a 970 Evo Plus, and 256GB seems a bit cramped. Despite the reccomendations of the Tomahawk Max everywhere, I'd go for a cheap (but decent) /X470 board that has 2 M.2 slots and possibly better VRMS.

The 256GB SDD will be a Windows/boot drive only really. Curently using a 64gb SDD for win10 and although its a bit cramped it works so i am not too worried about the 256gb drive.

Go for larger non-Samsung SSD, almost 80 euro for 256 GB ? Come on. Smth like Crucial MX500, WD Blue 3D, maybe some cheap NVMe except Intel 660p and Crucial P1 (just refer to SSD tier list here). Otherwise it looks good but i don't see the point in 3700X either, by the time it would be enough there will be better platforms anyway (better IPC, faster RAM). And you definitely don't need 32GB for gaming neither. This PC wouldn't hold-up for 8-9 years just because you cramp more cores and RAM in it. Also see if there are Phanteks P400A available, should be similarly priced and it's better.

512 GB is cheap. Why not? Catch one TLC 512GB drive on sale, and you're set.

So here is the updated system. Only thing i changed so far is the SSD. At the moment i am still staying with the 3700x and the 32GB Ram. I do like to get some tips on good option for Case and MB as people have made points about those. I wasn't able to find the phantek p400A that someone suggested, so that a not a option.

Also another thing concerning the ram. Getting any of the 2x8GB ddr4 3600@CL16 all come down to around 120 euros. So kinda feels like a steal getting 2x16 for 150. Unless there is something wrong with that RAM that i am not aware of cuz the price diff just seems crazy really.

For mb, either go for msi b450 max version (tomahawk, a-pro, gaming plus) or x570 any asus or gigabyte aorus.

For ram, 3600c16 is faster. If you don't think you'll have a use case for 32gb, i'd go for 16gb but faster.

As for case, any case with a mesh front for good airflow will be good enough.

Well that the thing. That 2x16 is also 3600c16( € 150). So going for the 32GB means i get a extra 16GB for just 40 euro more over just 2x8 3600c16( € 120). I also cant find any ram faster than 3600c16 on that website for that price range. The only thing that seems to come close is the G.Skill DDR4 Trident-Z 2x8GB 3600Mhz@CL15 at (€ 182)

So i got everything in the shopping cart ready to buy it all. I just want a last minute check from you guys if it good to go.

Added a usb drive for win10 install media and some air to clean my current GPU.

 

I changed the case although still not 100% on it and went with 16gb of ram as the original ram i planned on getting was sold out. Otherwise i am happy with it, just worried i might have forgotten something to actually build it, like do i need to get any extra cables for anything etc..
