PC isnt performing well

nathanr6

Hello im having trouble with my computer. my specs are as followed.

Cpu: Ryzen 7 2700x 3.7 ghz

Gpu: Gtx 1660 ti

Mobo: B350 PC MATE

RAM: 16GB 3000 mhz

PSU: Powerspec 550 watts

So my problem is my performance. My fps has dropped a lot recently im only getting 60-80 fps in R6 Siege on 1080p max settings. I have checked other peoples benchmarks and they greatly exceed my fps count in every game. My temps is around 40 to 45 idle and like 55 to 60 while playing games for a bit. Ive updated and reinstalled drivers as well. Im not sure what to do :( if you need any more information please let me know thank you !

When playing games open msi afterburner and see hows the clock speed on cpu and gpu behave, if there is any dips. Also did you use DDU to uninstall drivers?? Did you get drivers straight from Nvidia website??

You had this "issue" since the start or recently?

Your temps are way very good!

Do you use Afterburner? If not install it and OC the card it's almost all auto!

Well I changed my gpu recently and everything went fine  and then after I changed to the ryzen 7 and it seemed ok at first but now I feel like my computer hasnt been able to handle games like it should. I will look at the msi afterburner now.

Which model exactly ? Nevermind, that's group regulated PSU, replace it. Quite possibly that's why you're getting suboptimal performance.

Pick smth from this tier list, B and up. Corsair CX are usually the cheapest decent one, 450\550W.

Run a unigine benchmark or something similar.

Check max clocks, gpu usage and temp.

The ensure they do the same during the game.

Verify cpu usage per core with and without the game running. Need to rule out if it’s a game issue or gpu issue.

Hi there,

what kind of performance did you expect / have previously gotten or have seen?

What were the specs?

I kinda think your framerate maybe on the low end but not so bad either.

This is with a Core i9-9900K at 5 GHz with 32GB of DDR4-3200 memory:

IMG_20191221_062157.thumb.jpg.3606a614cf002942f25e5f907f62b5c6.jpg

And these things can make a difference.

What's your GPU and CPU usage btw,  that could be crucial information to figure out if your PC is performing as expected.

Also btw,  just as an aside,  there is zero advantage playing at higher framerates than your monitor's refresh rate,  literally none as its physically impossible there to be one.

Does your monitor have a variable refresh rate or fixed?

Don't get me wrong,  I get you want best performance from your hardware, but to me it looks you may not be too far off.
