The PSU tier list is quite helpful to me personally.  PSUs are complicated but there are people around that are experts in them so I simply take their advice

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

I don’t know how performance compared to the 730 you got there.  The apu would use system memory so there would potentially be more of it.  It was also all new parts so no used parts weirdness.  Cost about the same.

So if i got a athlon 3000G would i have to buy a gpu still?

Ran into a post just now with a guy who wants to use a used 1400 and a 1050ti. It would arguably make more power for not a lot more money.  Was worried about memory issues with the 1400

you're not gaming much, so probably not. i wouldn't recommend a dual core CPU for virtualization though.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X Heatsink: Gelid Phantom Black GPU: Palit RTX 3060 Ti Dual RAM: Corsair DDR4 2x8GB 3000Mhz mobo: Asus X570-P case: Fractal Design Define C PSU: Superflower Leadex Gold 650W
