need some advice with my laptop's ram

hi guys,

here are my laptop specs:

  • ryzen 5 2500u with vega 8 graphics
  • gtx 1050 4gb
  • 8gb of ram

i have noticed that from my 8gb of ram, only 7gb was usable and i've read that reserved ram was used for the integrated graphics.

since what i have is a laptop, i thought that if i lower the reserved ram on my pc, it will drain the battery super fast because it will use the dedicated graphics.

can someone tell me if i can do it or is it not worth it

some laptops give up the reserve ram when the discrete gpu activates.  Some don’t.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.
