Heavy Duty PC Case from scratch

BlazeBird

Hey, so I've been working on designing a custom PC case, and wanted to know what people think! It is very large and over the top; the main material of the final case will be eleven gauge steel,  and the side panels will be quarter inch steel plate. Yes. It will be heavy.

3 5.25 inch bays

16 3.5 inch bays

32 2.5 inch bays

Every panel will be able to be replaced with different ones. Ie, 2x200mm fans in front to 6x140mm fans.

Attached is a render of the final case, as well as pictures of a sheet metal prototype for mockup purposes. Average pc case frame for size comparison.

Really hoping for your back that you put some wheels on the monster. :D

But it sure looks nice.

When i ask for more specs, don't expect me to know the answer!
I'm just helping YOU to help YOURSELF!

The whole thing will go together with bolts, so every single panel can be moved on their own and assembled on site!

It will be about the same size as the Corsair 1000D, so you're right to call it a monster!

Dang! That thing will be bullet proof!

As long as anyone is oppressed, no one will be safe and free.

One has to be proactive, not reactive, to ensure the safety of one's data so backup your data! And RAID is NOT a backup!

Yep! Might actually do some weathering. With a shotgun.

Finally! I can play games while working on the stone crusher mill...all of the commercial cases just vibrate to pieces!

JK: looks military spec, probably should look the part too...

Heh. I was thinking more... utilitarian than military. "You want a tough case? Here's a tough case. Those bolts ain't gonna shear any time soon. "

Design update: to decrease labour requirements, I'm gonna be making a frame from 1.5" x 1.5" x 1/8" angle bar, and just bolting all the panels but the back one onto it. This will allow me to easily rotate or flip the motherboard simply by rearranging panels. The MB tray, rear panel, and frame will be all welded together,  but aside from that all assembly will be bolts and screws.
