Adding rgb fans?

Willvaughan1301

Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone could help me, I have a motherboard with 2 fan headers and want to add 3 corsair RGB fans. Is it possible to use the three fans and still use their RGB iCue software to adjust them? Also, my board also doesn’t have any rgb headers.

Thanks

normally, RGB fans have two wires sticking out of them. one for the RGB, one for the fan power. you might want to use fan splitters for the fans so you can attach more than one fan in a single fan header. for the RGB side, i think you need to purchase an RGB controller if your motherboard doesn't support it or if the rgb fans doesnt come with it. some (like local fans here in my country and even deepcool RGB fans has an option to either attach it to the motherboard RGB header or the included RGB controller which attaches directly to the PCIE power from the PSU.

Im with the mentaility of "IF IM NOT SURE IF ITS ENOUGH COOLING, GO OVERKILL"

Ok, the fans I want to get are the 3 Corsair ll120s which I believe come with an RGB hub, so I’ll try and get a powered fan header like this: https://www.newegg.com/global/uk-en/copper-swiftech-0-ft-speaker-wires/p/2MV-0035-00001

thanks for your help! :)
