RDR2 Crash on startup

So I cant get the game started.

 

It crashes on the load screen(smoke screen)

 

wont even start in safemode?

 

anyone else have this issue

 

SPEC

7700k

strix z270h

16gb Ram

Nvidia 2070 super

Win 10 pro

 

I have the latest drivers installed.

i think its an achievement that the game even kinda loads. My rockstar games launcher jsut keeps crashing, and so is it for many others.

I am here to learn, please correct me if im wrong or you see me putting bs on your screen!

I managed to get the game loading,

I was verifying the download but also i'm using AVG - so added the rockstar folder to the exceptions and it ran

Are you using Vulkan or DX12? People are having crashing issues with DX12 in RDR2.

I had same issue. Game crash right after loadscreen of 2 bullits and just after the red Rockstar logo came it crashed every time. I fixed my crash by disable shields running in my anti-virus (avast) and after that ran just fine for an hour I played it and exit the game my self.

Yeah I just added the rockstar folder to my Avast exception list

It's the first game ever had trouble with avast. But one has to be first I guess.

It was proper annoyed last night lol... don't usually get games on pre order aswell. but ive got it working and i think theres a update this morning aswell
