CPU Upgrade (potential motherboard issue)

Hello, so right now i am running:
Processor -       Ryzen 5 2600
Motherboard -   MSI B450 Gaming Plus
Memory -          Corsair Vengeance 16gb DDR4 3000MHz

Graphics Card - MSI RTX 2070 Armor (OC Edition)

Power Supply -  EVGA BR 700W (80+ gold)

 

I want to upgrade to a Ryzen 7 3800X but im not sure if my mobo can support it

The 3800X will work fine, but you need to install the latest BIOS first. Some MSI boards need to run the latest Beta BIOS for Ryzen 3 to work, I know my X370 Gaming Plus did.

yeah, there are a lot of youtube tutorials. also be sure to quote us so we see your responses

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

 

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad
