Best Way to Format a 2TB USB 2.0 Drive???

I’m trying to figure out the best way to format this 2 TB USB drive I just bought. It’s 2.0 USB and it is 2 TB. I’ve done a quick format but it still comes up with errors when trying to read data from it. But when I do alone format it seems not to move. Is it just take a really long time to format a 2 TB USB 2.0?

Yes, USB 2.0 is fricking SLOW. It's about 30MB/s, so it takes about 19-20 hours for a full format of 2TB.

Where did you buy it from? For one, a 2TB USB-drive with USB2.0 raises an immediate alarm for me. It should be USB3.0. Secondly, errors? Another red flag. Lemme guess: you bought it on eBay or Amazon?

This - a 2tb USB2.0 is likely a 16gb flashed to show 2tb USB 2.0.  This is an old scam.  Even Newegg Marketplace has these fake sticks listed.  Or did you get the DataTraveler Ultimate GT from Kingston...except that would be USB 3.1 (if you catch my drift).  Also these costs hundreds and hundreds of dollars.  If you paid something that seemed to good to be true - you should request a refund immediately.

well i managed to get a refund and told me to keep it. came from china so i was leary once i saw china post as source. but figured id give it a try at least. but yeah it was on amazon. figure usb 2.0 2tb was doubtful but wasn't much either with cuon code i had.
