Best GPU to pair with i5-3570k

not a fan of amd cards, i prefer nvidia so 1060 maybe 1070 would be fine ?

The 1070 will be extremely bottlenecked by the CPU. Not worth. The 1060 is also a waste since the 570 is extremely good value. Don't buy based on brand, buy based on what's good for you

Hello, my friend have i5-3570k, overclocked to 4,5 or 4,6 Ghz

And hes looking for GPU that wouldnt be bottlenecked by this CPU, which GPU u guys would recommend to match this cpu ? For 1080p gaming

Right now he has gtx 660 2GB

Thanks

System - 16gb ram, MSI Z77A-G45 GAMING , psu - Enermax Triathlor 550W

Thanks

I currently run a GTX 1060 with that CPU... could play Control on full HD quite well with high settings and 2x AA ... only had about 2-3 places in game where it stuttered... else completely smooth playing experience.

so I would suggest a 1160/2060 type of card...

2 Main Systems (mine and my late wifes): AsRock Fatal1ty Z77 Pro, Core I5 3570k @4300, 16 GB Ram DDR3 2133, some SSD, and a 2 TB HDD each, Gainward Phantom 760GTX. (one of those got a Gainward Phoenix GS 1060 if I had waited only a month longer ^^)

On the Road: Acer Aspire 5 Model A515-51G-54FD, Intel Core i5 7200U, 8 GB DDR4 Ram, 120 GB SSD, 1 TB HDD, Intel CPU GFX and Nvidia MX 150, Full HD IPS display

Media System: Asrock ASRock Z87 Extreme4/TB4, Intel Core i5 4460, 16 GB Ram DDR3 1600 ADATA XPG, 1 275 GB SSD, 4 Seagate Ironwolf 4TB HDD in raid 5, Gainward Phantom 560 GTX (the 560 will be replaced with one of the 760 due to better effeciency)

(Abit Fatal1ty FP9 IN SLI, C2Duo E8400, 6 GB Ram DDR2 800, far too less diskspace, Gainward Phantom 560 GTX broken need fixing)

Nostalgia: Amiga 1200, Tower Build, CPU/FPU/MMU 68EC020, 68030, 68882 @50 Mhz, 10 MByte ram (2 MB Chip, 8 MB Fast), Fast SCSI II, 2 CDRoms, 2 1 GB SCSI II IBM Harddrives, 512 MB Quantum Lightning HDD, self soldered Sync changer to attach VGA displays, WLAN

That CPU is fine for 60hz gaming just grab an RX 470/480/570/580 they should be cheap on the used market, around $100 USD

Its going to be faster than my i5 3470 by a decent margin, but I have to agree anything above a 570 will be a waste on that machine.  It just wont build frame times to be taken advantage of by higher end GPU's.  If you have to be a Fanboi (I am, no hate here) than Id get a 1060 6gb and call it a day.  That's the max I would drive with my i5 3470 personally as some of it would be lost on my CPU.

It depends a bit... For 60hz target I believe the 1070 can still be justified as you'll be able to go higher on graphical settings, sure there's a bottleneck but the games that won't achieve 60fps on the i5 may be limited even with weaker graphics.

Also on a side note, seems we have a couple of brand new RX590 going for 199$ nowadays... Not a bad pick at all if you want brand new.

alright then gonna get 570,

8GB or 4GB version ?

Thanks

For 1080p the 4GB is enough... That said it's not rare to find the 8GB priced similarly so it's more a matter of the cheapest you come across.

I just had my friend pick up a Sapphire Pulse RX 570 4GB for $115 USD after rebate on Newegg a couple of weeks ago.

He is rocking an older i7-3770. I agree with everyone else here, a GTX 1060 / RX 570 / RX 580 is probably the max you should go with that CPU. I feel the same about my friend's i7-3770, and he will have better minimums due to the extra threads.

I think that will get you another year or two out of your machine before your CPU really starts to be a problem.
