Well vsync on will give you your monitors refresh rate.  Also no need for pay-gync when you have freesync .  Hope this helps.

i have a gsync monitor and what do you mean vsync on with give me my monitor refresh rate?

Just turn G-Sync on and leave V-Sync off always, is my motto.

 

I have other mottos too, but they make no sense to anyone.

ok even when i have just that i sometimes get a little tearing i know g sync is working because i can see my refresh rate number going up and down (refresh rate not fps but you probably know that

What FPS range are you in?

 

I've never seen tearing with my G-Sync monitor at all, I'm in the 60-100 FPS range when I game tho.

Hmm, wonder what the GSync range for your monitor is as well.

 

To go over the obvious, you have GSync on in the Nvidia control panel thing correct?  For both Windowed and Full Screen?

Use G-Sync only and limit your FPS just below your monitors maximum refresh rate.

G-Sync wont work if your FPS is higher than your monitors refresh rate. V-Sync wont let your FPS go above your monitors maximum refresh rate but every time V-Sync kicks in, you will get increased input lag. Some people don't feel it, I do quite a bit and for me its unplayable with V-Sync enabled.

 

Most games now days have an in-game FPS limiters so use that whenever it is available.

i just did the nvida pendulum demo and got zero tearing is it the games fault?
