Nintendo Gamecube Sleeper - Olivia

Ocrovelo

I am going to try and build a PC inside a Nintendo Gamecube outer shell. This concept is very early in the planning stages but here are the basic specs.

Motherboard - ASRock DeskMini A300 (Motherboard Removed From DeskMini Case)

CPU - AMD Ryzen 5 3400G

Case - Indigo (Purple) Nintendo Gamecube

Power Supply - 120W DeskMini Included External

RAM - HyperX Impact DDR4 16 GB 2933 MHz (SODIMM)

WiFi Card - Intel 8265 AC M.2

WiFi Antennae - MOLEX 47950-2011

SSD - Samsung 970 EVO Plus 500 GB (M.2)

As you can see from the specs I am going to buy an ASRock DeskMini A300 and just use the Motherboard and Power Supply.

CPU AMD Ryzen 5 1600 . Motherboard ASUS Prime X370-PRO . RAM 16GB Kit - Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3000MHz . GPU MSI GTX 780 Ti GAMING 3G . Case Cooler Master Cosmos II . Storage Crucial MX500 500GB SATA SSD . PSU Corsair RM750x (2018) . Display Dell 27" . Cooling CPU Cooler - AMD Wraith Spire (No Led). Intake - 200mm. Exhaust - 140mm. HDD Bays - 2 x 120mm . Keyboard Redragon K551 VARA RGB . Mouse Dell Optical USB Mouse . Sound Urbanears Plattan 2 - Dark Grey . Operating System Windows 10 Home

I've been wanting to do this for a long time. Are you sure that the motherboard will fit inside the GC chassis physically?

If it does then I'm waiting until we get a Navi APU and will be golden!

If you wanted to make it smaller you could get an ITX motherboard with wifi built in, and then get an m.2 SSD. Saves having that SSD and cables. You also may need a low profile CPU cooler.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600X  |  Cooler: Cryorig H7  |  Motherboard: MSI B450 Mortar  |  Case: Fractal Design Meshify C Mini  |  RAM: Team Vulcan 16GB  3000MHz  |  GPU: EVGA 1070ti Gaming (Kraken G12 Watercooled) |  PSU: Corsair TXM650  |  Storage: Samsung 860 EVO 500GB + WD Blue M.2 500GB  |  Network Card: Asus PCE-AC56  |  Monitor: Acer Nitro VG270U  |  Audio: Sennheiser HD6XX + Schiit Fulla 2

Laptop:

Lenovo s540:  CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3500U  |  RAM: 8GB DDR4 2666MHz  |  GPU: AMD Radeon Vega 8  |  Storage: 256GB NVME SSD

ITX is too big for the GC case. I am using Mini STX. Both the WiFi card and SSD are M.2 as this board has two M.2 Slots.

I'm sure that the motherboard fits. It is 5x5 inches and the GC Case is 5.9x6.3.

Make sure to create a build log to document the process and post it on here then as I'm sure there are MANY people here who would be interested in doing something similar, such as myself!

^^^ Hell yeah. I've looked at ones built in Wiis and Wii Us as well, old Nintendo consoles are just cool and stuffing a PC inside is awesome.

Sorry, the Motherboard is actually 5.5x5.7 inches but luckily that is still small enough to fit in the Gamecube.
