Ryzen 5 2600 vs 3600

Hi all,

I'm based in the UK and I am building a new PC over the summer on a pretty tight budget (£400-£500 excluding PSU & storage as I already have these).  Basically, I want to know whether or not it is going to be worth spending the extra £70 on a 3600 over the 2600 given my limited budget. (in UK 2600 - £120, 3600 - £190).

Thanks in advance,

LS

on a budget that tight, i'd say no. The 3600 would bottleneck every card you could buy for that price and you wouldn't get much more performance.

Go for the 2600. Just out of curiosity, what do you plan to build?

Thanks for the advice. This is the plan so far:

I already have a PSU ( Corsair CS650M 80+ Gold) & storage from old PC. I'm not fully decided on the GPU yet, but I only play at 1080p and the RX 580 seems to offer pretty good performance for the price.

5 1600 go lower and get a decent enough gpu.

A 1600 is only £10-15  less than a 2600 though, that upgrade is surely worth the £15?

well if its only a RX580 go for a freaking 5 3600 instead why not?

Honestly its not maybe if you can squeeze in a Vega 56 with that kind of money i would say yes if its on 1440p.
