Ryzen and ram memory 3000mhz vs 3200mhz

Recommended Posts

Hello, I cant decide between ram memory for upcoming ryzen 3900x, currently i have only 2400 mhz 32gb, so I would like to change them. Options are: Corsair VENGEANCE LPX BLACK 32GB 3000mhz   and  CORSAIR 32GB DDR4 3200MHz VENGEANCE RGB PRO WHITE s RGB LED CL16-18-18-36 1.35V XMP2.0 . Do you think its worth to buy 3200 mhz over 3000mhz ? There is  60 difference in my country. RGB doesnt matter to me as ram memory is unfortunately hidden under Dark Rock Pro 4 :D  Thank you

If I recall, Ryzen 3xxx is going to have a sweet spot a bit higher. Like 3600 or 3733, etc.

That said, no one knows yet the performance differences of RAM on the new chips.

Wait for benchmarks.

Like @jstudrawa said, we don't know yet. No one has the new Zen 2 CPUs yet(except some Spanish website, supposedly), thus no actual testing for RAM speed were done.

3200 was the sweet spot for previous Ryzen CPUs, but for the Ryzen 3xxx series, it could very well be above that.

Just wait it out, it's only 2 weeks.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 3600 / GPU: Radeon HD7970 GHz 3GB(upgrade pending) / RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x8GB DDR4-3200

just from the numbers...the two rams have the exact same speed. I did hear that Ryzen requires higher mhz as opposed to timing but...my common sense tells me that they are exactly the same.

buy 3000mhz, set timings to 15-18-18-34 set speed to 3200mhz, then set voltage to 1.4V.
