I wouldn't delete the pagefile at all; but disabling the hibernation file is easy and saves you some space.

Are you asking which Windows takes up the least space on your hard drive?  Or uses less RAM to run?

Official system requirement, both version of Windows now requires 32GB of disk storage.

However, Windows 10 32-bit consumes less, because it doesn't have WoW64.

As for RAM consumption,

Running 32-bit OS, and that means that your CPU switches to 32-bit mode, it means that memory addresses are only 32-bit in length instead of 64-bit. The end result, is that it will consume less amount of RAM. That said, you support only 4GB of RAM officially, and with the way Windows works (due to various reasons), depending on your system specifications, only 3.5 to 3.7GB of RAM will be addressable from your 4GB, while you have full 4GB addressable if you use 64-bit version of Windows.

To disable hibernation simply open the command prompt as administrator (elevated credentials), and execute:

powercfg /h off

A great way to gain space is getting a new drive. SSDs are becoming cheaper by the day. Now, 1TB SSDs are actually affordable for many, and continues to drop in price.

You cannot really drop in size than a clean install of windows. I mean you can, as you want to, disable hibernation, and shrink the page file (or disable it if you don't mind programs unexpectedly close on you, and windows telling you that you are low in virtual space), but the rest will be minor things like running Disk Cleanup utility in Windows often, set a limit in you web browser of choice cache, empty the temp directory often, delete Windows built-in wallpaper to save a few MBs, and that is pretty much it.

Only "hand made" version of Win10 64 did with NTLite can be much smaller. 10GB after install (without update readiness it would be much smaller - about 2.5 GB with 32 bit version) and about 600 MB of RAM usage. But making it work without problems, take a lot of time and knowledge.

But it's bloatware free with only a few services running, you have full control - not MScrap spy, superfast at Windows normal operations and can be used even on old hardware with 1 GB Ram. 0% CPU and HDD all the time. However You will not see almost any gains in FPS when ex. gaiming, having modern computer. Still fully operational Win10, but cut to user hardware and needs. Good alternative to using ex. Linux.
