Laptop Memory

I was looking to upgrade my laptop ram since it only has a single 4gb stick. I am hoping to upgrade it to 16gb, I was wondering if there are any specifics I should keep in mind. The laptop I am attempting this on is an Acer Apire v5-573pg-9610, I am aware that the cpu isn't the greatest but am not sure if that will pose an issue.

The two I am currently looking at that are available near me are:

Patriot

Corsair Value Select

https://www.frys.com/product/6932057?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG

Both are ddr3 sodim as my current, but I am unsure if that is the only thing I should be checking for. Also I do not know which is a more reliable brand whether patriot or corsair.

Go for the 1600MHz.

Of course Corsair is a more reliable brand.

But there is also nothing wrong with Patriot

Why wouldn't you want the faster RAM if both are the same price?

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600  Heatsink: ID-Cooling Frostflow X GPU: Zotac GTX 1060 Mini 6GB RAM: KLEVV Bolt 3600Mhz (2x8GB) Mobo: ASUS B550-F ROG Strix (Wifi)  Case: Fractal Design Meshify C PSU: Deepcool DQ-M-V2L
