Cheap 1440p 120hz 24" monitor

Flobberknock

Hey guys

I just got a 2080 and realised my current monitor only outputs 144hz over its DVI input which my card has no output for.

Can you recommend a half decent but inexpensive high refresh rate 24" monitor? I'm thinking 1440p now as well since I might as well up my resolution whilst I'm getting a new monitor now.

This looks a little sketchy, if I was OP I'd go for a good 1080p@120Hz instead of a sketchy 1440p@120Hz which could suffer from ghosting or shitty color.

Thanks both, yeah I was thinking about sticking with 1080p @ArduinoBen, but it feels like such a sidegrade rather than an upgrade. It's just so annoying that I'm having to invest in another monitor purely because the HDMI on mine doesn't output at 144hz...I was thinking about this if I was going to stick with 1080p

Not sure I can see anything wrong with that for that price

Are you sure your card does not have any other 144Hz output?  It would be very strange, especially for such a high end card.  Can you list every single output on your card and monitor please?  There may be an adapter available to connect them.

It's the monitor. It only accepts 144hz over the DVI-D connection, and my card only has DP, HDMI and USB-C for VR. I could get a DP to DVI-D adapter but they're like £50-100 and reviews are iffy...

This is the one I recently picked up, I'm in the US though and it was on sale when I got it for $329.99 about a month ago, which is crazy good especially for the fact it has G-sync, similar models are $200 - $300 more. Don't really know your budget but there is some decent Asus 1080p 144hz monitors for under $300 on amazon aswell, I'll link the one I used to have it's a very nice monitor good color and never had issues. Noticed you linked a curved monitor, those can be a bit more pricey, I tried to go for a curved when I upgraded to 1440p 144hz, it didn't register with me, I couldn't get used to it and the monitor I purchased had some ghosting issues.

Cheers @SpookyCitrus

Yeah I've done a bit more digging since and came across these which are 1) pretty cheap and 2) good reviews

I still feel like not going to 1440p is going to not exactly be an upgrade, and tbh I might just stick with 1080p60 for now and see if I get used to it

I'm not overly fussed on G-Sync, but that could be because I've not seen it myself in person, it's just one of those things that I don't know I need it and It's probably best it stays that way ;)
