Lower resolution upsampling

Just set up a custom resolution in Nvidia's control panel or set the resolution lower ingame, the your monitor will take care of the upsampling for you.

Hi all,

So I watched a video on DLSS by Hardware unboxed where they basically said that it's better to render at a lower resolution and then upsample than to enable DLSS. Now I'm not planning to use either of those right away, but I was wondering how to set this up. I saw that I can enable DSR in the Nvidia contol panel, but this does exactly the opposite.

Does this have to be actually implemented into the game or is it possible to set this up yourself? They were rendering at 1210p and the upsampling to 1440p, which is what I might want to do when I start playing Metro Exodus.

Cheers

Ah yeah I tried it in Nvidia's control panel, it says the resolution is not supported by my monitor unfortunately.

That's why you make a custom resolution. https://www.nvidia.com/object/custom_resolutions.html

Ah yes I have found one that works. Running at 2368x1332 now haha. I was trying 2176x1224 but it said the test failed.

Huh. I've never actually had that happen before.

I got 2144x1206 working as well for some reason, no idea why the other one failed.

Well thanks for pointing me in the right direction :).
