I Have No Clue About Anything PC

For $250 AUD, that's a great price. The mobo, CPU and RAM are worth that alone. If that kind of machine was available near me, I would just buy it.

Other upgrades you could do later is a better graphics card and an SSD. For the love of god get an SSD. You will never be able to go back to using a computer with a spinning drive as your daily driver after that.

Did said individual also happen to have any pictures of this PC?

yeah atm i have like zero dollars but scice im 13 im starting a paper round to earn some money

and that pc is up the road from me

Yeah, you can get relatively good performance on Fortnite. Apex is going to be a bit slow, and you'll probably have to turn down the settings very low (I am unexperienced with how this game performs because I have not played it yet).

thanks aswell

here are my specs

Intel Core i7-2600k @3.40Ghz
8GB RAM
Radeon R9 270X 2GB GFX Card
Z68 Gen 3 Motherboard
1TB WD HDD
550W Hexa Series Power Supply

is it good for $249 and will i be able to run fortnite well

If you can get SSD to that, its really good basic gaming PC. Better GPU is next on the list if you think of upgrades.

The Wheel of Time turns, and Ages come and pass, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth comes again.

You came to a forum about building PCs and are asking what PC to buy.

Okay mate, maybe we can help you at least pick something that can be easily upgraded later.

correction, this forum is all things tech .. majority is components and build help, but that's not all the forum is meant for

I got into it knowing nothing more than CPUs are the brains, and prebuilt units were expensive and didn't always have what i wanted .. used Techquickie's as fast as possible to get into the custom PC world. If he used a term i didn't know, paused the video and searched for an as fast as possible episode on that term. Eventually I had so many tabs open i couldn't find my original video .. but hey, it was all worth it bc now I'm 2 years in and know plenty about it, but don't ask about anything prior to kaby lake and FX lol

what kind of games would you want to play, what settings and what fps are you wishing to achieve, do you currently have a monitor too? if so, what is the refresh rate of that

RAM also contributes to speed.

The more RAM you have the faster it is.

Not always, no.  RAM is where the information is stored for the computer to be able to access.  If there is not enough RAM, Windows will use a pagefile to swap the data in and out of that it needs.  Sure, more RAM is better, but there gets to be a point where you have too much RAM, and it's just sitting there unused.  Sure, you aren't swapping out to the pagefile, but if you're only consistently using less than 8GB of RAM, there's no need to waste money on upgrading to 32GB.

no monitor but i can pick one up for $100 AUD so $71 USD

GAMES

  • Fortnite = 60-140 FPS High Settings
  • Maybe Apex Legends = 30-60 FPS Low Settings
  • Maybe PubG = 30-60 FPS Medium Settings
  • And Just Some Steam Games

oh this is a 60hz refresh rate monitor, about what u said wanting 60 to 140 fps on fortnite is not achievable as your monitor's max output is 60 fps

and to be honest, if you are going to buy a pc just to play apex and pubg at 30 fps i rather u save that money up for a better one
