Im building a gaming pc for 3440x1440 and up resolutions. And money is not a problem for me. Should i go with the i9 9900k is it good in gaming?

As to the OP Question the I9 9900K is the best Gaming CPU At the Moment and is incredable if you do some rendering...

This is definitely not a universally true statement and needs clarification.

 

My 9900k (now delidded and using der8auer's direct-die frame with liquid metal) + power modded and water cooled Titan RTX rig is using a 2560 x 1440 165 Hz Gsync monitor and definitely doesn't hold 100fps at all times in every game (with all settings maxed out). To be fair it can hold it with say Battlefield V, but in Witcher 3 no way, in World of Warcraft it is always below 100 fps if I'm in a city around other players.

You're absolutely right though in Minesweeper.

Because there's always a bottleneck somewhere.

right - just saying we shouldn't give blanket statements that "setup X will give 100+ fps in most games at high resolution" because we're still not there yet with hardware processing power for higher resolutions with max graphics settings. Sure, 2560 x 1440 with high fps is achievable if you don't mind turning down all the graphics settings but what's the point outside of competitive online shooters? (and in that case why not just run 1080p low or 720p low to really crank up your fps?)
