Fan Configuration Help for Corsair Carbide 400C

Tintax

https://www.corsair.com/uk/en/Color/carbide-400c-config/p/CC-9011081-WW

Extremely beginner Builder here. From what I can understand this case has 5 case fan spots, I planned to have 2 140mm fans on the front, and running them as intake fans, and then running the fans in the back as exhaust. I have no idea what to do with the fans I'm going to put on the top. Also I just want to know if the fans on the front should actually be 140mm? i was not able to find a concise answer to this on the product info page.

I already bought three 120mm fans for the top and back. Please inform me is a was wrong about those sizes.

Offtopic question: I plan to overclock my GPU(the MSI DUKE OC 2080), Will i need a aftermarket cooler or will the stock coolers be enough for overclocking?

Tintax can’t help you at this moment but I purchased that same case and it will be delivered Tuesday this week. I’ll let you know what’s in it when it arrives.

The Duke is a great cooler and you don't need an aftermarket gpu cooler to oc.

The front supports either 120mm or 140mm's depending on what you want to use. Which is better depends on the specific fans being compared.

Front intake and rear exhaust is great. Top exhaust can also be helpful but might be overkill. The stock case fans should be fine for most systems. What are your specs?

My specs are Intel i7-9700k

Corsair vengeance  3000mhz  Ram

Evga 600 bq Psu

Crucial mx500 ssd

4tb seasonic barracuda had

Cooler master map-T6PN CPU air cooler

When you say having top exhaust is overkill, do you mean doing exhaust on the top fans are bad and I should do intake on them.Or are you saying I should not use fans on the top at all? I planned to run the fans on the top as intake.

Thanks alot for helping btw

Overkill as in the system might already have plenty of airflow and that you might experience diminishing returns if the system doesn't produce enough heat for there to be much of a difference in adding more fans.

For your system, the stock case fans should've already been suitable but an extra front intake should still be beneficial for a total of 2 front intakes and 1 rear exhaust. Beyond that, adding top fans wouldn't be detrimental but probably wouldn't improve temps by much. If you already have the fans, you could return them for a refund or add them as top exhaust.

I'd rather keep them and use them as exhaust.I got them at an extremely good deal, and they would make my case look better. Thanks alot.
