Help/Recommandation

Hi,

In September, I’ll be studying programming (5years in total).

My question is, should I buy a newly come out laptop now (ex. Dell XPS 13 9380 (https://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/dell-laptops/new-xps-13-touch/spd/xps-13-9380-laptop/xnita3ws707h)or other laptops presented at CES) or should I wait until august (If there’ll be some changes in hardware). As I said, ill be needing it in September (But the sooner I can get it, the better it is).

Thank you ?

Note: I have to install linux

Thanks for your reply,

France/UK, 2.5k (Max) and i would like a lightweight and a medium screen (15''/13''). I would also like to have 500GB of storage if possible. The abttery life doesn't matter.

Thinkpad X1 Extreme - mediocre cooling, possibly better Linux compatibility

Others:

Gigabyte Aero 15w - mediocre cooling

Asus UX580 - mediocre cooling (especially GPU side)

MSI GS65/ P65 - mediocre cooling, OKish build quality

MSI GS63 - mediocre cooling, OKish build quality

Or you want a less powerful CPU with less heat output?

Agreed, although if you repaste it it performs very good.

I showed the results here
