Gaming laptop under 1500 USD

Hi there,

I am hoping to buy a not so bulky with a decent (4 hours of non gaming) battery life to watch movies, and maybe do some of my office code development on it (nothing too demanding).
Which can play all games at good fps. Wont be streaming or having multiple windows open when running the games.
I am really confused between razor 15, msi gs65 and Asus gaming rigs. Also I feel am I overspending with my requirements?

Should I wait for the 2019 laptops to come out? Really been confused since its my first big investment from my pay!

Budget under 1500 USD. Can stretch to 2000 USD (Only if its really worth it).

Thanks for all the recommendations!

Do you 100% need a gaming laptop. Because gaming Desktop + Laptop is usually the better choice in those situations.

I did think about taking the desktop and laptop route but I travel often for work so decided to do a gaming laptop instead.

I am in Chicago, IL. I think I can do up to 3-4 pounds for weight and 4 hours of non gaming battery life.

You won't get a good cooling solution if you want a laptop with powerful GPU under 4 pounds

Results from Newegg and Amazon:

1070MQ:

MSI P65 8RF / GS65 8RF - OKish build quality

Clevo P950/P955ER - undersized charger

1060:

Gigabyte Aero 15w

MSI P65 8RE / GS65 8RE - OKish build quality

MSI GS63 - OKish build quality

Clevo P950/P955EP6

Might want to wait for RTX refresh too

Just got my MSI GS65 Stealth Thin 2018 Version and couldn't be happier.

I have looked for laptops for 2 months, and finally have decided on this one. I like Razer but I think they are charging too much just for the brand.

If you buy MSI GS65 make sure you open it up in the store and make sure that there is no creaking in the chassis by the trackpad.

I game... I edit... I work...

And yet there is no perfect laptop for all mentioned above in a small, thin and light form factor...
