(I don’t know if there is a specific section for asking questions like these, so I do apologise if I’m posting in the wrong place)

 

So I’m looking to buy a new computer and I see this one for £650 that a buddy of mine put onto Facebook. Just want to know if this is worth me buying?

  • 1TB Hard Drive
  • 120GB AFOX SSD
  • 16GB 1600MHz DDR3 RAM

  • Corsair SPEC-03 Blue LED Gaming PC Case 
  • 450W Power Supply
  • Gigabyte AMD760G Chipset Motherboard

 

New Rig:

  • Intel core I5-6600K 3.5GHz Processor
  • 1TB HDD
  • 240GB Samsung SSD
  • 16GB 2333MHz DDR4 RAM
  • ICHILL Nvidia Geforce 980ti
  • 850W PSU

Yeah I know I could go for brand new, but Christmas did hit my bank relatively hard and my current pc is starting to run into some issues so I wouldn’t be able to wait till March/April to have the funds sadly.

ah, bummer... well, it's a bit on the high side, but knowing the used market a bit and knowing it's your friend, it isn't that bad.

That's a pretty damn good price. I'd get it and, if you can, throw in a used 6700k/7700k.

I wouldn't pay 650 pounds for it, maybe 500

For itx? It's got a good overclock motherboard, an SSD, a 980ti, and a great power supply.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

 

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

 

How many watts do I need? ATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explained, group reg is bad

Eh, it's an ok price. Not the best price ever, but ok.

 

If you sell your current parts, you might be able to recoup a bit of cash too. (The RAM alone can still sell for at least £50 on ebay)

It's old tech I wouldn't pay more than 150 pounds for a 980ti and 150 for a cpu mobo combo.

Since this post, I have looked around and it looks like the best that I'm going to get without going out of the way to find parts all over the shop and build it myself. I'm going to keep my current PC and keep it as a spare, mostly for my mrs to game with me. Cheers for the reply's though!
