Some "Team Radeon" Newsletter subscribers received the following email before 8 am CST, I received this email at 7:39 AM CST, I have been subscribed to the newsletter for a few years now. What are your thoughts on this, essentially they gave "fans" a chance to buy before the public, I was able to place in cart at 7:40 and kept on refreshing until 7:42 as it became out of stock. Can AMD claim that this was not a paper launch, and that they let fans get it first? Does Andre get ten whole buckaroos? five? (AMD fanboi here, was gonna scoop one up but decided on a quest 2 and kinda regret it ) Best wishes to everyone still trying to obtain one, Good luck!

The NDA for the new AMD graphic cards have come out and it's showing promising results: 6800XT sometimes faster than the 3080 and 3090, especially on 1080p. Overall, 6800XT is better than the 3080 on price to performance. Though if you play on 4K or any higher resolutions, Nvidia's higher bandwidth memory seems to allow it to pull more frames than its Navi counterpart. Check the quote below for various reviews, or go head back to Linus' youtube channel and check his review: Source: https://videocardz.com/newz/amd-radeon-rx-6800-series-review-roundup https://www.engadget.com/amd-radeon-rx-6800-xt-review-gpus-140014999.html Thoughts: It's certainly great, and probably the competition will stop the scalpers faster now that the choices are wider. I wonder what will Nvidia react to these.

Hello! I have a Sapphire RX 5700 XT Pulse, since September 2019, without bigger issues (some bad drivers, terrible DX9 performance AFAIK, bad DX11 performance compared to DX12 & Vulkan). My last few days were full of troubleshooting adventures, yay! First I realized my Seagate Barracuda was full of bad sectors (a bit under 2000). I am waiting for the replacement WD drive, and have my stuff all over other disks. Then, after reinstalling a game and applying an unofficial graphics mod (Assetto Corsa + Custom Shaders Patch) I started running into a hard GPU crash with artifacts all over my desktop screen (attachment), which could only be resolved by a restart (at this point I am on 20.4.1 or 20.4.2 IIRC). Tried to update to 20.5.1, uninstalled the driver in safe mode using DDU (which froze, never happened before, reinitiated after killing the task), restart into normal mode, install driver, restart, boot loop. Going into safe mode and restarting from there got me into W10. The issue with the game could still be reproduced, and on Discord someone with the same card confirmed it with having certain graphics settings, which I also had enabled. Changing those settings "solved" my issues. Didn't get any boot loops either so I pretty much forgot about it. Today I wanted to restart my PC, bam, boot loop. Could get into W10 the same way as before. Uninstalling the Radeon drivers allowed me to restart without issues. Clean install of 20.5.1 lead to the same boot loop, 20.4.2 WHQL as well (boot loop right after restarting after installing the driver, or any non-cold start). Apparently on 20.2.2 I do not have this issue. What I observed, as a difference between 20.2.2 vs 20.4.2 & 20.5.1 is that after installing 20.2.2 the Radeon Software started automatically, and W10 didn't notify me that it has to restart because of some AMD related thing I don't remember. I have no idea if I have any hardware issues (regarding those crashes), and I will be afraid to update my GPU drivers now. I didn't find anything about this issue with boot loops, and it started happening only after installing new drivers after those crashes. Any advice what to do? I am thinking about RMAing but not sure if they approve as the GPU seems to be okay in stress tests and normal use. And I don't have an iGPU so I would potentially be without a GPU & PC for possibly long, potentially for nothing. Still, I don't know if this is a hardware issue and if it is, how to prove it.

Hello! Last week I had issues with boot loops with GPU drivers and crashing with artifacts. After a W10 reinstall my problems were solved, just to find myself with an underperforming GPU. In Assetto Corsa I used to be getting decent FPS. Compared to e.g. 80+ in a more busy scenraio a few weeks ago I am getting mid 50s now. Everything is on high performance in W10, game mode disabled, ULPS disabled, etc. Any advice? After years and years of PC gaming this premium priced GPU is making me consider to just quit it. I am very fed up and disappointed.

Source is WCCFtech so take with the usual grain of salt: http://wccftech.com/amd-taking-the-covers-off-vega-navi-may-16th/ They then immediately add: No product launches, but roadmaps roadmaps and more roadmaps. And maybe some Vega details, although that's slated for its own event, most likely to be held during Computex. What makes WCCFtech think May 16th will be "the" day? Well, there's one official AMD event on that date, namely the 2017 Financial Analyst Day: http://ir.amd.com/phoenix.zhtml?c=74093&p=irol-analystday . All the big names will be present (Lisa Su, Mark Papermaster, Raja Koduri, the lot), so they'll talk about something. If it's Vega or not, we'll have to wait and see. But again, take this with a massive amount of salt. It's WCCFtech after all.

this is pure SPECULATION based on the information i've read/heard. Will Navi actually use the Infinity Fabric? Based on their roadmap, I have a feeling it really is the I.F. It would really be cool to have 2 smaller GPUs work as one. Should be cheaper to produce and should allow AMD to catch up to Nvidia. Hopefully Navi can fix the imbalance in the GPU market. What do you guys think? forgive me for my paint skills

I'm thinking of building an AMD build for gaming/content creation and AMD is gonna release AMD Navi later during H2 2018. Should I wait or can I just go with a VEGA card for 1440p@144fps and be completely fine (If the cards can handle it when we get to see reviews from third party reviewers)? I'm gonna build my new rig late 2017/early 2018. Regards, Joro

Navi doesn't look to be as big of a leap but it looks like it'll time in nicely with my next upgrade cycle. We'll see. Anyone else here with me on this or no?

Rumor has been spreading on the web that, AMD's successor to Vega, Navi, will have dedicated circuitry for artificial intelligence (Ai), for machine learning. The next gen card will have a new manufacturing process at 7nm, compared to Vega at 14nm. Navi, is expected to debut sometime around 2018. http://www.fudzilla.com/news/graphics/44277-navi-to-have-ai-specific-circuits?cid=dlvr.it http://wccftech.com/amds-navi-7nm-gpus-feature-ai-acceleration-hardware/

Some clear reports about the releases from AMD.... some reports that single core boost is still not there as amd confirmed fully functional bios version will be released some times later..... AMD navi release seems to got more attention than their cpu release.... beating rtx 2060,2070 and on par with 2070 and 2060 super respectively...even beating it in some games... Some youtube reviewers praised for this performance from navi cards ..and new choice for the 1080ti performance for $400 dollars.. Claiming rtx features against the navi cards are useles...cause rtx is at the moment is useless themselves for the rtx cards....only ti is somewhat deserved to buy for rtx gameplay navi cards are not paper launch and are available at micro center if you buy amd cpu ..you get EVEN $50 DOLLAR discount off of those cards. i say both CPU AND GPU release is a success for AMD SOME reviewers on youtube are falsely claiming that the navi cards are bad value....they are nothing but paid shills...dont fall for it..because super cards aren't worth the price...at the moment 3700x amd 3900x both destroy intel 9th gen cpus even at 7z zip compression test and adobe premierer pro rendering which was intels lead all this time 3700x is within 5-8% of all games tested of the 9900k....so within 5% is just margin of error...so still claiming intel is the KING of gaming does not value that much... 3600 geekbench single core is 5.6k and multi core is 28K-30K...with 4.3 all core boost. which is on per with 8700k at 4.9-5.0 Ghz... they are having problem with single core boost of 4.4-4.6 ghz

Hello everyone. I want to build a pc (2000-2500$). Mostly for 3D rendering. Sometimes I'm playing games (Rainbow, Sekiro). So after this <Computex 2019> do I need to wait for Ryzen 3000 or better to buy now ?
-
I am planning on buying a Radeon RX 5700 upon release. (RX 5800 if they would release it at the same time) I have read, that it supports pcie 4.0, however my Ryzen 1600x only supports pcie 3.0. Would using pcie 3.0 instead of pcie 4.0 bottleneck my card when it comes to 4k gaming at 60fps? I am also planning on getting an oculus rift s for vr gaming or a 144hz wqhd display. Differences in Blender Cycles would also be intereseting.

My brother watched the video on Navi rumors and asked me if I was stupid for being so excited about the latest AMD card. When the Vega 56 & 64 are already doing the extra 10% performance just by undervolting and pushing the core clocks and software maturity . He says maybe the lower 3060/70 may be worth looking at for budget gaming but how much cheaper will the 3080 when a Asus Strix RX Vega 56 8gb is $248 a Asus Strix RX Vega 64 8gb is $340 and he says the gddr6 vram might not even be the 16gbt one that would mean the vram may not be faster then the hbm2. He says we have Vega cards already unless Navi is super power efficient and is at least 20% faster, it's pointless to buy me the Navi cards. Is it true?

Hey guys, I'm upgrading my PC (from a i5 6500 to a R5 3600) but I can't decide which GPU I should by to go along with my new CPU. I currently have a Asus Turbo 1060 6GB, and I don't know if I should buy a Zotac RTX 2070 Mini for 379,99€ or wait for RX 5700 / 5700XT Custom cards. I have two main questions, when do you think they'll come out, and will they be more or less expensive than the current cards on the market. Also, AMD has done a really nice job increasing performance on their graphics cards with better drivers, so that is also a point to take in consideration. RX 5700 and RX 5700XT in my country for reference : So, do you guys think I should wait or buy the 2070 for that price ? Thanks for your help

Joker is the man when it comes to Ultra-Wide Gaming info, and now he has gotten around to benchmarking AMD's new GPUs. His new benching machine is an R9 3900X + 64GB RAM system. The results show us that while both cards can hit 60+ FPS on 3440x1440p with High, but not Ultra settings on 90+% of even more demanding titles; that the NON-XT varient isn't really "recommended" for this resolution at these settings (in my opinion anyways), due to its 1% lows in more demanding titles tanking down to around 30-40 FPS, which will be noticable and annoying during gameplay. All in all though, I think the results are impressive and show us just how far the middle of the GPU market has come. I have been and still do recommend waiting on custom cards (3 weeks to go!) because remember, we now know that Navi Overclocks way better than RTX 2000. I would say that for ultra-smooth 3440x1440p/High gaming, you could take a well-cooled RX 5700-XT, Overclock by 10+% and guarantee yourself that creamy experience of 75-80+ FPS on NEARLY any game, which makes the experience even good enough for fast-paced FPS games. Leave the NON-XT varient for 2560x1440p or 2560x1080p.

I've been having a lot of issues with my new saphire RX 5700 XT, from screen tearing to stuttering, black screens, system shutting down, everything, i can't even play games anymore, without fearing that i will crash and close. drivers are up to date, everything wored "fine" before, did a clean driver installation, uninstalled in safe, installed again, my drivers version is 19.7.2, whic according to every website, is the latest. i dont know if i ahve to go for warranty, or just wait until this drivers nightmare ends my system OS: windows 10 64 bits with the latest june patch CPU: R7 1700 Cpu Cooler: Be quiet dark rock pro 4 Mobo: Msi B350 Gaming plus Ram: 32 gb of gskill ddr4 3000 mhz SSD: 512 gb m.2 teamgroup Psu: 550 PSU thermaltake bronze 80+ Cpu Cooler: Be quiet dark rock pro 4 Case: in win 101 VID_20190720_095004.mp4

I have a simple question, will 3rd part manufacturers make navi 5700's and 5700xt's with a cooler other than the current blower style one ???
-
So I am about to build a new PC and since right now I'm working my butt off 2jobs a day, and I don't have so much time for researching on my own I'd like to ask this If I pare 3600 ryzen with X470 MOBO, will I get the same performance as on x570 mobo? (don't care about having pcie4.0) and If I put Navi into the mix will it be the same as on-again x570 board? I know that doing so the NAVI GPU's gonna use all 16x lanes in order to work properly since most of the card with 3.0pcie on pcie3 mobos don't really use 16x lanes to work 100% but only 8xlanes am I right? thanks in advance.

Should I buy the rx 5700 stock cooler? It's cheaper than the AIB cards. I heard that card gets really hot and loud. What should I do?

I was on the brink of getting a 5700XT when I spotted a Vega that raised serious doubts. The thing is, I'm not one to go for very high end gaming, I usually lag a few years in terms of games I play, and I'm probably a few months away from getting a monitor and game that would really take advantage of either (I'm the kind of person who wants his 60Hz monitor to get constant 60FPS, not the highest possible - vsync is my friend ). So, cutting to the point: I'm not entirely sure of the performance gap, but pricing is as follows: RX 5700XT: EUR 419 Vega 56: EUR 267 RX 5700 and Vega 64 are out of the question due to being priced too similarly between them, and too close to the 5700 XT (in all cases I'm considering the cheapest I'm comfortable buying, which is usually the cheapest non-blower card, or 10-15 EUR above that). The 5700XT is the faster card, and the faster you go, the steeper the premium, but is EUR 150+ (56%) too steep? Is the performance difference anywhere near that large? I guess a different way of putting it would be: I can get the Vega for 64% the price; which fraction of the performance would I get on average?

Hey so I currently have a Ryzen 5 2600 cpu and a GTX 1060 3gb GPU and I was thinking about just buying a Radeon RX Vega 56 as a short upgrade for streaming and playing Triple A games. I stream a lot and edit and the 1060 was my upgrade from a GTX 1030. I bought from my roommate for like $112. The 3gb is not doing me a favor with streaming and I'm getting tired of it. I know that AMD is comming out with the new Navi gpus but I'm not sure if I'm going to even upgrade to them. Also is it worth switching to AMD? I have a free sync monitor but I am taking advantage of the new nvenc encoder. So if you have any input feel free to share it, and thanks in advance. -- Anyone else have input? MeatFeastMan Posted 12 hours ago Well, you could stream using your cpu instead, and you'd probably get pretty much the same performance with the 2600 as you would with the new nvenc encoder on Turing. Since you do a bit of editing, you'll want the 8gb vram and HBCC that comes on Vega. Here's the one I'd get: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/cKhKHx/sapphire-radeon-rx-vega-56-2gb-pulse-video-card-11276-02-40g

Source: https://www.tweaktown.com/news/65812/amds-new-radeon-rx-3080-xt-rtx-2070-performance-330/index.html If this all turns out to be true, it looks like 2019/2020 will be another good year for PC Gaming. With extensive competition in the CPU space - memory and storage at crazy low prices. We will definitely see an influx of newcomers. Especially, if this is even remotely accurate. It will be up to NVIDIA to answer back, because if you can get RTX 2070 performance for $330, RTG will be severely undercutting NVIDIA with the RTX 2070's current cheapest offering at $455.

Source: https://wccftech.com/amd-navi-gpu-radeon-rx-graphics-card-pcb-leak-gddr6-vram/ Well seeing that the announcement for Navi GPUs is supposed to happen towards the end of May, it makes sense that we are seeing leaked PCB layouts now. Leading one to believe that the cards are very much under production now, and seeing final design hopefully by Computex. There's supposed to be major improvements with the Navi arch, while although still GCN at its core, IPC and efficiency should be greatly improved compared to Radeon VII. Although, we will have to wait until the 27th of May to see if this all pans out.
