Do you have small tip pliers? Try to insert them and then extend them. Then twist. Just might work.

So PLEASEEEEEE dont get the macbook. we need to prove to apple that when they release BULLSHIT like the macbook, we arent gonna buy it.

salah2000 got a reaction from don_svetlio in Lenovo Y700 Review
So i received my y700 today i intend to split the review in two parts.
    PART 1: First Impressions
The first impression i had once i pulled it out of the box was wow its built really well. I was also surprised to see that lenovo included a usb dvd drive ( Usb 2.0 ((( ). The aluminium panels on the bottom and top are solid and look GREAT, but on the first touch you realise that it is a FINGERPRINT MAGNET. The soft touch finish on the main body is nice. So far aesthetics and built quality are two big pluses from me.

When you press the satisfying power button a sexy array of white leds are revealed. This is the part that disappointed me. It literally takes FOREVER to boot and once its on, the windows installation is another nightmare. I ended up leaving the room and watching an episode of prison break before finally coming back to see it had finally finished installing. At this point some of you may be saying why didn't i just get the ssd model. Well heres why, Lenovo wanted to take a page out of apples book and unnecessarily restrict upgradablilty of its laptops. What i mean is, if you buy  the model with an included m.2 ssd as a boot drive, they remove the hard drive cables. WHYYYYYYYYY. So now im stuck with a 1tb hdd model and an extra $100 to save up for a m.2 ssd. This issue is reffering to the models that dont have an ssd and a hdd installed by default. Ive seen some models like that online but they werent available from ncix where i purchased my y700 from. Anyways ill move on to the keyboard and trackpad.

Firstly the keyboard is GR8 M8. Key travel is good and the keys feel really tactile and really shows lenovos experience in keyboards. The backlighting is bright though the leds arent as red as they appear in pictures, they sometimes have a very slight orangey tinge to them. Moving on, all the reviews i saw online stated the trackpad as mediocre or just "good". Overall i found tracking and multi-touch gestures pretty good but where it shone for me was the very tactile and very satisfying mechanical click. I did have one annoying gripe with the trackpad which was i found it was much too far to the left then it shouldve been. On first use it was quite uncomfortable to place my arm and wrist in that area and i often found myself rightclicking when i wanted to leftclick. Ive had the laptop for a couple of hours now and im starting to adjust to it. Now to my favourite part of the first impressions review. THE AUDIO. As expressed by my capitals the speakers on this beast were just GR8 M8. It reached really high volumes and i only found it lacking in bass, but maybe thats due to me being such a bass lover lol.

To wrap up my first impressions, the build quaity is very good, the keyboard is very good and the trackpad is just "good" and lastly the Audio is VERY good.

I'll upload a few review after maybe a week or two. Enjoy.

Yeh thats why i purposely bought the non ssd model because the ssd model fully disconnects the hdd slot whereas the hdd model still has an empty m.2 slot

salah2000 got a reaction from Bajantechnician in HOW DOES NCIX EVEN WORK
yesterday i added a y700 in my cart which had a 960m 4gb and 8gb ram and a 1tb hdd for like $1427. Now that model is $1550 and it wasnt even on sale yesterday. ALSO they removed the 4g from the naming and now it just says gtx 960m. LIKE WTH so is it 4gb or 2gb. so youd think just scroll down and look at the specs but unsuprisingly THERE ARE NONE. It just has a windows 10 guide FMD. SO then i tried looking online to see if the 4gb or 2gb 960m comes with their advertised 6920hq model nd AGAIN UNSUPRISINGLY theres no record of it even existing. Like on lenovos webste it has up to a 6700hq and no other stores sell a 6920hq y700. WTH NCIX.
Ext DVDRWWtf so does it come with an external dvd drive or what. AND i tried messaging them with no reply. Im buyig from Australia thats why im scared to pay $1600 aud on something without knowing if it has a 2gb or 4gb 960m in it or if it EVEN EXiSTS with a 6920hq.

I'm shopping from Australia but due the the horrible inflation here I actually save over $500 when ordering from Ncix Canada with international shipping. I guess that's the only shop I can buy from beach use I tried b and h video and shipping was $300 compared to ncixs $90. Umm btw no discrete gpu is needed she is basically gonna use it for basic stuff but wants to speed through it. So basically trying to fit an sad in that budget is much more important than trying to fit a gpu. Ohh and 128gb isn't too bad for her because she has a 1tb external had. Thanks for your help

i really like that build though i think im going to go with the asrock z97 pro 4 and theres a razer deathadde chroma for 59. Also i am a bit size constainted so i dont think a full tower will fit which is why i didnt go with the phantom 530. Lastly theres a coolermaster v650 for $124 and i think thats better for me because there arent any really evga warranty services in australia wheras cooler master is a bigger company and is easier to acces here.
