DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth However this will only repair the core of windows itself by comparing it to an online image hosted by microsoft. It's more likely though that the issues are down to drivers and third party services running in the background. Your best bet is to refresh your pc while keeping your data, but you will have to reinstall most of your software,

The intensity shuttle has a usb 3 version which I'll probably be going with at this point.

I wouldn't consider an LGA 1155 Xeon honestly. They have the same IPC as their consumer grade counterparts, but lack overclocking. HT doesn't really do much for gaming, so try not to worry about it too much. Also, most older Xeons have a lower clock than their consumer grade brethren, which ultimately makes them worse for gaming. So, ultimately, I'd say the i5 2400 is certainly worth the extra $50.

While my pc does need an upgrade from the GTX 760 graphics card I can at least run all the games I'd like to, just not at high settings. This entry is for upgrading my girlfriend's computer which was built by me on the cheap years ago. The video was made by the two of us.

It really depends on the games. On paper the the 480 is the more powerfull card and in games that implement Async Compute shaders benchmarks show up to 15% performance gains on the 1060. On the other hand if the game engine doesn't play to the 480's strengths the 1060 tends to win by 5% +/-.

To help out a little. The RX 480 currently beats the 1060 in these titles: Ashes of the Singularity, Doom, Hitman 2016, GoW ultimate, Total War: Warhammer, Battlefield 1 and there may be a few others I've missed.
 
It remains to be seen whether AMD chips being in the consoles will translate to ports that favor AMD on PC. As of now that largely doesn't appear to be the case, but for the most part we have only seen ports of engines from the last gen consoles which ran nvidia chips and few complete engine overhauls. So far Doom and Ashes are the only games I can think of that are on completely new engines as of this gen and frostbite as an engine with a major overhaul. In conclusion, 2 years and maybe we'll see the 480 beating the 1060 consistently in new titles, but for now 1060 wins in most cases

Here's hoping that dock has a hard drive in it for downloadable games, the cartridges have some writable storage to hold updates, and maybe a blank writable cartridge can be released to hold downloadable games on the go. If the cartridges can't have game updates written to them then it's dead in the water for 3rd party support past the first year due to lack of storage space for updates.
 
It kind of disappoints me that we get this and not a new nvidia shield. As much as I like nintendo stuff, I can't imagine it will be as open as android is on the shield stuff. If I bought the switch it'd have to replace my tablet and I can't see nintendo opening the platform up enough to allow easy 3rd party development with play store support or side loading.

You don't have to worry about ipv6, most home ISPs don't even support it yet. One thing i forgot is that you should also be using a crossover ethernet cable or you'll need to use a network switch. Some gigabit NICs support auto-configuration to make a regular cable work as crossover, but this isn't present on a lot of the cheaper ones and 10/100mbps NICs don't support it at all.

The 255.255.255.0 is the subnet mask which is different from the subnet which for a local network is the 3rd set of digits in the ipv4 address 192.168.###.1. Subnet mask should remain as 255.255.255.0. The gateway should also be the address of of the computer you're sharing internet from.
 
You only need to set static addresses for the connection between the 2 computers your try to share internet across. The connection for the internet should remain unchanged. Setting static IPs disables DHCP because the IP addresses are no longer being dynamically assigned. Windows doesn't have a DHCP server to hand out addesses built in anyway.

For windows you can open the ethernet adapter properties, go to the sharing tab and check "Allow other network users to connect through this computer's Internet connection". You'll also need to configure the IPV4 addresses manually on a different subnet than your main network. Set the laptop ethernet adapter to something like 192.168.2.1 and the desktop to 192.168.2.2.

The consumer home router is really a combination of multiple devices. In your case a modem, router, switch and wireless access point. A switch simply switches which packets go down which cables it does not hand out IPs or do any routing logic. The bandwidth between any 2 devices on the same switch in isolation will be the full duplex gigabit regardless of other traffic on the switch in theory (in practice it's ever so slightly slower with more traffic). Once assigned IPs traffic between 2 devices on a switch never has to go back to the router (you can even disconnect the router after the IPs have been assigned and devices on the switch will still be able to comunicate). If multiple devices on a switch are accessing something over a single connection on the switch then the bandwidth of that single connection will obviously have to be split. Now adding layers of switches increases latency slightly, but this is imperceptible fractions of a millisecond.

The name's not weird. It simply just doesn't have one so the disk defrag tool generates that name from the data it has on the partition. It's a recovery partition created by windows upon install. Just leave it be.

You could upgrade the gpu to something like a 7970GHZ/R9 280x or an RX 470 to get yourself slightly above PS4 level of gaming capability. I wouldn't go any higher than that for GPU. For cpu performance I'm not sure you could get much more out of it through overclocking. Just make sure you're cooling it well enough to prevent throttling as that cpu can really kick out some heat.

I remember seeing this project over a year ago when they were just in the prototyping phase. I didn't understand then what it's target market as a product was then and am baffled at the marketing it as a tool for pen testers now. It doesn't compromise the target and potentially destroys accessibility of information on the target system. It's really only a tool for vandal pricks who think it's funny to destroy other people's/businesses' expensive hardware with accessible USB ports.
 
I understand the utility in developing a device such as this for informing companies of the potential dangers for hardware with exposed USB and thus the need for extra protections on said ports. They produce a circuit to implement these protections which I assume is their real target revenue stream, but selling the usb killer device just seems like a jerk move to force said issue with businesses by making it easily attainable by those not tech savvy enough to do it themselves. Considering it's easy for anyone else to implement a protection circuit to guard against this I still don't understand releasing the usb killer as product. I really only see it being picked up by a few high school - college age jerks who want to prank their peers and teachers by destroying their computers.

Making this readily available to those shitbags will force companies to implement protections in their devices and guess who sells some hardware to do just that.

You'd be surprised at how many don't, especially laptops(even expensive ones), and how many diodes that burn out closed allowing power to still go through.

It's definitely possible to use batch to launch two separate programs with arguments set for the VM to auto launch the image. It's unclear, though, what you intend to accomplish with this from your post. Can you elaborate?
