Ktwo got a reaction from BiG StroOnZ in PC Build Logs - Reflections - Custom Hardline Lquid Cooling
Hello again! Just wanted to update everyone with the last two updates I made to the build!

I recorded two other parts to my video build logs, but see below for a few written notes.

So in part 4 I show you the results of all my case modifications. The modifications include:
2 New fan intakes in the bottom of the case aswell as the 8 screw holes so that I could screw them in from underneath 2 New holes in between the rubber grommets to install my pass-through fittings Widened all the front fan mounting holes since they didn't align with the 360mm ek Rad I have in the back The modifications went surprisingly really smoothly and didn't comprimse the structural integrity of the case at all. Once the mods were done I proceeded to install pretty much everything including most of the wiring since alot of them became inaccessible once the rads were in.

The Final part! This video is pretty thick. It contains the results of all my acrylic bending as well as my first loop fill, finally culminating in the build being turned on for the first time and the final setup.
I had a few problems with some of the fan RGB not working due to a bad contact on one of the fans which I fixed up pretty well. I go over a lot of small things in the video so take a look if you feel like it. There's a short montage in the last minute so if you just feel like looking at the final result, just skip to 10:53ish.

Here's the final result in picture form for those who would rather not check out the video. I'm still not 100% decided on the color choice, plus the blue is alot less washed out in person rather than on camera, but I'm still really proud of the result.

    Hope you guys enjoy!

They go on in the article to talk about how this could be a good thing, seeing as those DRM's had loopholes that could be exploited by viruses.
Yay DRM, yet again messing with the consumer.

By the way, this means that games like the original Bioshock and the original mass effect won't work if you only have a cd copy of the game.

Ktwo got a reaction from Grrizz in [Community Video] Star Citizen - Is Beautiful
    Hello everyone!

I thought it was time for me to try and show off the beauty of Star Citizen. As much as there are big debates on different aspects of the game, I think the one thing that is irrefutable is that Star Citizen and a damn good looking game.

This video consists of what I consider an epic buildup that attempts to show every aspect of the game that we can see so far, all from completely original (As in, not trailers) footage. From the gorgeous environments to the great detail in the ships and the effects, it's all amazing to look at.

What makes this a Community Video?

I'll be honest, I added the title myself, but what makes this a Community Video in my eyes is the fact that it wouldn't have been possible without the community!
A couple days ago, on the Arena Commander forums and on the Linus Tech Tips Forums, I posted a thread asking for potential volunteers who would be so kind to give me a hand in creating the video I had thought of, and the community delivered.
Here are the names of the great volunteers that spent almost two hours with me as they worked with me to get the video I wanted.
    Booyakashasta
    [F|H] Quicksilver
    Rectrix
    Wander Away

They showed up on almost a moments notice and it couldn't have been better. If you would like to look at the thread I mentionned, it's right here: https://forums.robertsspaceindustries.com/discussion/270114/arena-commander-players-i-need-you#latest

Here's the video for you guys to enjoy:

I hope you guys enjoyed it as much as it was recording it, and if you guys have any feedback or suggestions let me know below. I know I already learned alot and have a couple ideas for improvements the next time I plan on recording something like this. This was the first time I did anything of the sort and I definitely plan on doing it again, so if you want to take a part in the next one (I don't know when yet) send me a PM and I'll be sure to let you know!

I only recently started making Star Citizen videos, but you can check out my previous videos here if you would like: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLPCfwiIeRffzq-mczULpWu-F_rebRQiBY

    Thanks!

Ktwo got a reaction from stconquest in Star Citizens - I Need You!
    Good day to everyone!

I believe it's time to show off the beauty of Star Citizen. I don't think anyone can argue that this isn't a good looking game, and I aim to reinforce this.

What do I need from you guys?

I'm all for great cinematic videos, reusing trailers and so on, but I think the only way we can do justice to this game is to show it off with same in game footage. Now let me be clear, this isn't some game play video from the pilot seat, I have managed to find a couple methods that allow me to record the game with the minimum amount of HUD allowing for great shots that really capture Star Citizen, and might I add, in 1440p.

Now to the point, for a couple shots that I would like to include, I want to have several ships in the scene, and seeing as I am but one person (+1 for my brother) I need the help from you guys to make this happen.

If you want an idea of what I'm talking about, here is my previous project video from a couple months ago, and Imagine more of the same type of content as the first minute of that. There will be no game play from the pilot view in this one.

    What and When

The only criteria needed is that your able to fly in arena commander, no ship requirements and no fighting skills required. If possible, be able to log onto my Ventrilo server for instructions (No mic required) because this will be more then just flying around shooting each other and easy communication would be a plus.

I plan on attempting this recording if enough people Volunteer at 7:00PM EST later today (July 1st).

For those that volunteer I will PM the Ventrilo information, and I will include your name/handle in the description of the video if you would like.

Hope to see you guys later!

I refuse to make another thread highlighting this, but there's a graphic comparison video that outlines that the PC versions Ambient Occulusion seems to not be working at all. Here's the link to the video:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_BcV6LWVDaw

    In the description:
''We compare Batman Arkham Knight on PC PS4 and Xbox One. PC is set to maximum settings with 60fps enabled in the config.ini. The PC version has no or only a very slight ambient occlusion. You cannot set ambient occlusion in the graphics menu. But we checked the config files and it was always set to TRUE. So maybe it is a bug that will be fixed soon and this occurs whit and without 30fps cap. There were frame drops while driving the car or in cutscenes. Another time I had extreme textures loading issues. This seems to be a bad PC launch.''

I thought the stream was great. Surprised Insomniac Games are releasing a VR focused game meaning PC, since last time I checked they didn't really like PC.

I'm pleasently surprised at the games that are supporting this, and look forward to trying it out.
If anything it's another reason to own a PC.

Ktwo got a reaction from EChondo in UK Customers cannot refund games on Steam?
I remember people complaining about this waiver and tick box a quite awhile ago, it's hardly new as far as I know.

    Example:
    http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/330335-confused-by-the-steam-subscriber-agreement/    March 18th 2015
(This is from the first link I found on a google search)

It also still makes sense regardless if Steam offers their own refund service outside of EU rights. It just seems like, in order to avoid complications, they have you waive the EU rights.

If anything they should probably just revise the old text (As this has been being showed on purchases well before the new steam refund policy) to specify if you are waiving both or just the EU part of it.

Ummm, I hope you know that Cloud Imperium Games, or better known as CIG is what you are referring too when you ask about Robert Space Industries. So, in short, yes Star citizen will be at the show.
