  1. If you only want to use the external monitor, can do so through Control Panel. Right clicking the desktop should have it. Or on win 7 the path is ... Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Display\Screen Resolution Only show on instead of mirror... Also if you close the lid of the laptop, cooling gets little worse as some heat escapes through keyboard and touchpad.
  2. Thanks for explaining guys. That's the thing I wasn't using special browser or anything. Secret is just adding .pet after the .onion lmao... Now I found a chat where people claim facebook got hacked (injected advertising scams), and recent downtime was a cover up.
  3. <sketchy link removed by staff> I have no idea about dark net. I am not planning to buy anything on it, just ran into this by accident. I assume they are selling stolen goods? Or how else can a card have higher balance than it's cost? I understand debit pre-paid you get how much you topped up, credit is a mystery to me. Edit: Thanks for explaining guys. That's the thing I wasn't using special browser or anything. Secret is just adding .pet after the .onion lmao... Now I found a chat where people claim facebook got hacked (injected advertising scams), and recent downtime was a cover up. Just having fun...
  4. This could use answering some questions and each time you get it wrong you lose a random case... Whatever cases you got left, after questions are over, you get to keep. Still luck involved for those that like it. Scalper deals were the best part about this, and she just ignored even the good ones.
  5. Sounds like hotspot IP lease time expires, meaning devices get new local IP address every 24 hours. You can try setting static IP for the PC in network adapter settings.
  6. ''Heaven Benchmark is a GPU-intensive benchmark that hammers graphics cards to the limits." Hot air from the GPU must be heating the whole case so much it has the same effect as if room temperature was 6 degrees higher during CPU only benchmark.
  7. Have you tried putting router on 2nd floor and then running cable up and down? Or on 3rd floor if that's where most of your wired devices are. I have had no luck with wireless so sticking to network switches, but Linus himself has proven that wireless can work if you are willing to pay more. https://youtu.be/qJeKZkK31JE
  8. Try fps limiter, many modern games are released with bugs that can even destroy hardware. Running game at lower resolution can help further. Or just stick to time tested games that run well.
  9. Maybe have to enable onboard graphics in BIOS. iGPU or Primary Video Adapter, could be under advanced settings.
  10. Main thing is not overheating the battery. CPU running at 65C doesn't mean the whole phone would be the same temperature. To reduce heat output: 1) don't charge phone during heavy use 2) reduce screen brightness 3) avoid direct sunlight hitting the phone And if holding the phone is not comfortable you can control it over adb from a computer(even Raspberry Pi) using scrcpy.
  11. Not international, but looks to be good for those living in U.S.A... You might have the option to pick up PC in person and save on shipping costs and avoid any potential damage during shipping.
  12. Ok I have not done this in years... maybe wubi is outdated. You would have to boot windows 1st every time and that is not what you need. So yeah get a USB stick, use rufus to make it bootable and install onto hard drive. Might be a good idea to shrink partition and create 2nd one just for linux.
  13. You can't boot from virtual drive if you remove the operating system that virtual drive is inside of. Linux can be installed from within windows with wubi app: https://turbofuture.com/computers/Using-Wubi-To-Transition-From-Windows-XP-To-Lubuntu-Linux
  14. You don't want to mirror the displays. You would only output to the external monitor. Basically turning the laptop screen off. That will allow you to set a mode that wouldn't work for the internal display but will work for your external. But don't expect that everything will run smooth at 144 if laptop was created with 60Hz in mind.
  15. Instead of battery you might better buy a power bank that supports laptops. So you can use it with a new laptop too. Spending money on old hardware repairs is generally not worth it.
  16. Are you bringing it with you? I wonder what important files are you trying to store on micro SD card. In case card gets corrupted you can probably access files from another computer with linux operating system on it. Raspberry can be booted from external drive, increasing performance and reliability. It's hard to imagine more security than keeping only berryboot on mirco SD card and physically storing external drive in a different location. It would be better to ask around on RPi forums: https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=296073
  17. Oh I keep reading things wrong. Update gone wrong. How did you install windows in the first place? It would be nice to have that installation media right now to run system repair.
  18. You must either change boot order in bios menu or spam "Esc" or different predetermined hardware key after powering on to manually change the boot device for that 1 time while installing.
  19. After 7 years it was probably time to get a new one anyway. But if you want the exact same product, used ones are for sale. Or can bring current one to a local repair shop. https://www.amazon.com/Razer-Nostromo-PC-Gaming-Keypad/dp/B004AM5RB6
  20. I don't think problem is on your end, but you can try USB ethernet adapter. I assume you don't live alone with 3 cables in that room. You will probably use wireless most of the time anyway as there ain't enough desk space for everyone. If you don't care who you live with, can try changing the room you live in and hope people that share network switch are not using internet so much in that part of the building.
  21. College dorm internet speed can depend on other user activity. When there are more users everyone gets lower speeds...
  22. You can just use 2 different browsers... Or not allow VPN in incognito mode.
  23. Look into 2nd layer Bitcoin lightning transactions. Sky is the limit. It's how I buy things online. Beauty is it also makes earning BTC easy, by playing games for example(such as MintGOX month's final Sunday tournaments).
  24. On bus or train, you better listen to some pre-downloaded podcast or music... Offline games are pointless waste of time and battery killer.
