It was Spanish, so it's not really a stretch to think it's not legible to anyone else. Also, I was able to read it just fine with technology.

Yeah, one way you can check (if you care to) is to flip the main power off for your place and see how many outlets still have power. And what you do with that information is up to you.

You could just be neighborly and split the bill with your neighbor, or just let it go quietly, enjoy the near-nothing bill, and when you move out, move on (as it sounds like you don't own the place you are in now) and leave it up to the landlord.

This? It's not VRM temps but rather safe amperage for AMD AM4 boards.

AeroMagnus reacted to Spotty in Got this for around 20 CAD, will it fry my system?
Not sure what you mean here. Why would it only be able to output 500W if it doesn't have an 80+ rating?
Efficiency doesn't have anything to do with the output. The output rating (wattage) of a power supply is how much it can output, after efficiency loss. So a 700W power supply can provide 700W to the system. If it is 80% efficient it will be drawing 875W from the wall. 875W input times 80% efficiency = 700W output to the system.
So even if it doesn't have an 80+ rating it should still be able to output the rated power. It will just draw more power from the wall when doing so.

Cooler Master is a massive brand that has a huge range of products, ranging from absolute garbage to really good. The Cooler Master Extreme 2 was on the crappy budget end of that spectrum from 7 or 8 years ago. "w/o PFC" on the label is a dead give away that it's a crappy power supply. Active PFC is a minimum on any modern power supply.

Old, used, crappy power supply that is gunked up with cigarette smoke residue? Hell no. I would not use that.
Whoever sold you that power supply got a good deal for getting $20 for it. You unfortunately got the raw end.

What system are you trying to power and we might be able to recommend a power supply for you to use?
Do you have an existing power supply already, if so, what model?

PCIe 3.0 X8 is plenty for modern graphics cards, in all but the most extreme cases.

8 lanes is fine, any GPU that benefits from more lanes will be bottlenecked by the CPU first.

You will be more limit by the 3400G itself then the 8 lanes. There is only a 2-3% gain from 8 to 16 lanes.

You might be able to get a 2700 or 3600 for a good price. In regards to your main question though, the 2600x isnt worth the extra bucks

Cooler depends, do you plan on overclocking?

Not a requirement, but it's decent to do.
Have you bought this board already? There's a much better one just a few dollars more. It's worth it, especially if you plan on overclocking.

Dont ger that board unless you allready own it.

Get almost anything else. Like the Pro4/AC from ASrock, or B450 Pro A from MSI

Suggest looking at these boards instead.

From what ive noticed from Forum traffic. The DS3H isnt the most reliable board.

I got my 3600X for a little less than a 3600 retails for because I had a coupon for an eBay store that didn't have a 3600 but stocked the 3600X.
Unless you have a similar deal, I wouldn't bother with the 3600X, it doesn't even come with the RGB cooler. If you want the AMD Wraith cooler (I don't blame you, the RGB ones are pretty cool), I'd buy it seperately on Aliexpress. You can get a Wraith Max for 37 CAD, or a Wraith Spire RGB for 30 CAD.

There's very little performance increase over the 3600, and it's a decent chunk more expensive.

I'd go for an MSi board if I were you. The Ryzen MSi boards apparently have the best memory compatability, which can be a massive boon. I probably would've gone for a MSi board if I didn't find my Taichi at the price I found it at.

Reliability in the sense of GPU issues, other random issues related to the board. And general QC.

Its one if the few board thay could be decent that i recommend staying away from. As its the one board that crops up most often with issues.

Well, a computer with a 2600 won't work without a GPU, as the 2600 has no onboard graphics. Definitely go B450 over A320--Ryzen is only at its best when overclocked. It really, really benefits.

Can you wait until you can get your hands on a used RX 570 or 580? The 2600 is a better value, but again, no GPU no system with that chip.
